Princess Diana’s untimely death on August 31, 1997, continues to fuel conspiracy theories today. One popular claim is that the late Princess allegedly kept a 'secret sex diary' that exposed the royal family’s raunchy affairs. Investigative writer, Alan Power, who maintains that he discovered the salacious dossier while researching for his book, argued that it may have contributed to Diana's premeditated death.

Princess Diana’s marriage to now-King Charles looked like a fairytale from the outside. However, behind the glitz and the glamor, the couple's marriage was doomed from the beginning. Power, in his book, The Princess Diana Conspiracy, asserted that Diana’s accident was a planned murder as the diary included damaging details about Charles's bedroom preferences, his numerous affairs, particularly his secret rendezvous with Camilla Parker Bowles. Power believed that Diana began to log details after realizing her marriage to Charles was heading towards inevitable divorce. The X-rated diary is now reportedly in the hands of a friend who has yet to publish its contents. According to the Daily Star, Power said, “This could endanger the monarchy."

The dossier allegedly also mentions a senior royal and a male servant sleeping together, in what was a secret homosexual relationship. Power claimed that Diana planned to use the diary as a ‘leverage’ to gain full custody of her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry. However, about 18 months later, she passed away in the car crash in Paris. Power's statements were echoed by a SAS soldier, identified only as Soldier N. According to the Daily Express, the soldier’s ex-wife told detectives, “It was the time that Prince William was doing some sort of SAS training in cars. We were talking about how lovely it was that Prince William and Harry were doing so well and that their mum wasn't here to see it. Then [Soldier N] said one of the guys was responsible for the death of Diana. I was shocked. I believed what he said.”

As per the Daily Mail, the woman, who spoke to the Metropolitan Police Detectives, additionally stressed that the ‘hit’ was carried out as the royal family disapproved of the Princess marrying an Egyptian man. The high-profile British investigation ‘Operation Paget’ investigated the unauthorized claim. However, after an exhaustive investigation, they concluded that there was no evidence to support these claims. The final 2006 report released by the police investigation concluded that the deaths were due to the reckless driving of drunk chauffeur Henri Paul and the paparazzi chasing their car, which caused the driver to speed. Although Diana initially survived the impact and was conscious when she was pulled out of the wreckage, she succumbed to her injuries later.
