Prince Harry's Spare broke records upon its release in January 2023 before being given away by hotels six months later. But one salacious tidbit in the tome still reverberates throughout palace walls, and it involves Prince William.

Prince Harry hasn't spoken to his brother, Prince William, since reportedly leaving Britain after Queen Elizabeth II's State Funeral in late September 2022.

In the autobiography, the Duke of Sussex accused the then-Duke of Cambridge of throwing him to the floor during a 2019 argument that revolved around Meghan Markle. He also spilled how it was William and Kate Middleton who convinced him to wear a Nazi uniform to a party in 2005 — both allegedly laughed at the then 20-year-old prince once the image of him donning the outfit was splashed across newspaper front pages.

Instead of calling the Duchess of Sussex after the incident, the fiery-haired prince claimed he phoned his therapist to talk through his emotions about the altercation.

The supposed attack apparently happened at Harry and Meghan's Nottingham Cottage on the grounds of Kensington Palace. The then-Duke of Cambridge was said to have come over to "help" his younger brother but Harry claims the future king was really there "looking for a fight."

"Are you serious?" Harry wrote in the tome. "Help me? Sorry — is that what you call this? Helping me?"

Prince Harry's memoir, 'Spare,' has caused him 'a lot of trouble in Britain.'

At that point, Harry wrote how he offered his brother a glass of water. "He set down the water, called me another name, then came at me," the fifth in line to the British throne wrote. "It all happened so fast. So very fast. He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor. I landed on the dog’s bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me. I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out."

Reports have also reflected the Prince of Wales' apparent dislike of the Duchess of Sussex, which came about after the former actress' early feud with Kate, Duchess of Cambridge, in 2018. The "bridesmaid dress fiasco" involving Princess Charlotte soured the burgeoning relationship between the two royal duchesses, and conflicting accounts claim that each made the other cry over the incident.

After Harry told his wife about the William assault, he wrote that she revealed she "wasn't that surprised," and that instead of anger, she reacted to the alleged assault with "sadness."

Prince Harry struggled with being Prince William's 'spare.'

It is believed that Diana, Princess of Wales' sons, have not spoken with one another since around the time of the late Queen Elizabeth II's state funeral in September 2022.

"Life is short. Like what was seen with King George VI and the former King Edward VIII, it is a shame these once close-knit brothers cannot put aside their petty differences before it's too late," a palace insider once spilled.

The rift between William and Harry is set to continue, with no events set to bring the two together anytime soon.
