Ex-Royals at War Bombshell Exclusive: Sarah Ferguson 'Upset and Concerned' at King Charles' Heartless Plan to Boot Her and Prince Andrew From Royal Lodge
Sarah Ferguson all but confirmed the ongoing feud over the Royal Lodge between her ex-spouse and "roommate," Prince Andrew, and her ex-brother-in-law, King Charles III. The Duchess of York has also reportedly voiced her concerns over what this means for her future as a resident of the opulent mansion since 2008.
"Fergie is known to be a steadfast supporter of Andrew," royal and showbiz expert Mark Boardman of MarkMeets.com exclusively tells The Royal Observer. "She would likely share his sentiments, feeling upset and concerned about the impact this move has on their family."
"Fergie has often been vocal about her loyalty and support for Andrew, so it’s reasonable to assume she is advocating for him behind the scenes, possibly hoping for a compromise or solution that allows them to maintain some stability and dignity amidst the changes," he adds when mentioning the years-long friendship the former husband and wife have maintained.
This insight follows a moment from earlier this month when the ex-HRH got stern with Good Morning Britain host Martin Lewis when he kept asking the ex-royal about the brotherly feud over Royal Lodge.
"I tend not to get involved in brothers' discussions and I think that's the safest place to be," Ferguson pointedly told the broadcaster when asked about the rift. "Let the brothers discuss it between themselves."
"Bit of a damper... obviously, you live with Prince Andrew in Royal Lodge," Lewis began. "Do we know what's going on with that?"
"It's not a Debbie Downer [...] I'm a guest, for a start," Fergie replied. "I'm a very lucky guest and a very comfortable guest."
The ex-HRH was praised by one commenter on X who exclaimed: "Fergie is very much that b----! Passive she is not. He got what he deserved trying to sneak that in."
The snappy exchange comes amid recent and increasingly consistent revelations in the ongoing rift over the opulent property, not far from Windsor Castle. The feud is said to have started shortly after Charles III acceded to the throne in September 2022 before cooling off in late 2023.
The Duke of York is possibly set to be removed from the Royal Lodge but the monarch has reportedly "been stunned" by his younger brother's "refusal" to leave and rejection of his royal commands.
"It's Brothers at War, to be honest," royal expert Stephanie Takyi shared. "Charles and Andrew haven't had the closest of relationships. According to the papers today, Charles is trying to evict Andrew from the Royal Lodge, where he's lived since 2004, and he's trying to get him to move into Frogmore Cottage, where Harry and Meghan previously were."
Andrew was given the "jewel of the royal residential portfolio" by his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, in 2004, two years after its previous occupant, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, passed away.
Boardman concludes: "This is an opportunity for her family to start fresh and move on from their past controversies."
