Sarah Ferguson, who weathered a slew of royal controversies since marrying Prince Andrew in 1986, is reportedly trying to end the feud between Prince Harry and the monarchy.

"Sarah Ferguson has learned the hard way that you can't fight the royal family and win — she has spent a long time trying to keep a low profile and avoid getting into the kind of trouble that has embarrassed the royal family in the past," royal author Tom Quinn told an outlet.

Harry is long-rumored to still be close to Fergie's daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, which the scribe feels could play a part in the ex-HRH's plans.

"Sarah and her daughters Beatrice and Eugenie have tried to intervene in the feud between William and King Charles and Harry and Meghan," he added. "They've tried to calm the situation and persuade Harry that he's had his say, and he doesn’t need to stir things up any further, but Harry was never likely to pay much attention, largely because his feud with the royal family has become a key part of what makes him tick."

'In over a quarter of a century since divorcing Andrew, Sarah has become much more outspoken,' a palace insider shared.

"The Duchess [of York] has her own well-publicized family difficulties to deal with," Quinn said. "She has never stopped trying to persuade the senior royals to rehabilitate her former husband Prince Andrew and when she talked about unity and the need for forgiveness, she no doubt also had her husband in mind."

The Duchess, who has battled two forms of cancer over the last year, dazzled at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival on May 23, where the former royal also gave an update on her skin cancer diagnosis from last December.

"This evening I am doing very well," the author shared on the red carpet while wearing a "stunning" and "whispy" Lilith Cocktail Dress. "I think that we've managed to get cancer in the right place, rather than cancer ruling me."

"I've put cancer in the corner," she added. "I think you always have to be aware. I think it's great to get checked for b----- cancer [and] melanoma. I think you just have to be very candid about it. I think a lot of people get very frightened to talk about these things. I'm very happy with my mastectomy and my b------, and just to talk about it."

Her former Royal Highness was also asked about the state of King Charles III and Kate, Princess of Wales' cancer battles, to which she offered words of hope.

"I think family unity is key… I think the key to life is that we all support each other," she continued. "And also forgiveness is a great thing. I think forgiveness of yourself and forgiveness of others."
