Sarah Ferguson played coy when asked on a promotional tour for her latest romance book if she and Prince Andrew would ever officially get back together.

"I get asked that all the time!" she exclaimed. "We're happy with the way we are right now, thank you."

In recent years, the former HRH has repeatedly been asked the status of her dynamic with her ex-spouse.

"He's still my handsome prince..." she said in 2023. "He'll always be my handsome prince. It's lovely that we are such a family and the story has a happy ending all the time."

On another occasion, Fergie pointed out: "We’re divorced to each other, not from each other. We are co-parents who support each other and believe that family is everything. I'm proud of the job we have done together in bringing up our children and sustaining a strong family unit. Our bywords are communication, compromise and compassion."

When it comes to possible remarriage, one analyst feels Fergie will likely "pass." It "would make Sarah a member of the royal family, with pressures that have not existed since their divorce," expert Marlene Koenig dished. "I cannot predict, but I would be surprised if they remarried. Their relationship improved with divorce."

Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew divorced in 1996.

The pair divorced in 1996 after a decade of marriage, but thanks to their "great friendship" ever since, some royal analysts feel that the pair could tie the knot again.

When the pair divorced, Sarah lost her HRH style, which was only afforded to her by right of her marriage to a British prince. The same thing happened to Diana, Princess of Wales, who also divorced Prince Charles in 1996. Since then, she has been known as Sarah, Duchess of York, although her nickname, "Fergie," is how many instantly identify her. If the longstanding roommates of Royal Lodge elope, Fergie will become Her Royal Highness The Duchess of York, once again.

Prince Andrew and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, have lived together in the Royal Lodge since 2008 as 'roommates.'

If another round of York nuptials takes place, the Duke of York will not need King Charles III's permission as only the first six in line to the throne must ask the monarch to marry. Sources say that Prince Andrew would likely ask his brother anyway, and a wedding could likely occur at the small Royal Chapel of All Saints, which is where their daughter, Princess Beatrice, married Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, in 2020.

The fairy tale extravaganza of Andrew and Sarah's first wedding in July 1986 at Westminster Abbey is "most certainly" not in the works, according to a palace insider.

In August 2023, Ferguson was feeling nostalgic about her 1986 "Cinderella" wedding to Prince Andrew. "I came down the aisle and came out a princess. My heart is full of belief that anything is possible; before that, I was working in an art gallery, and it took me 45 minutes to get to work," the ex-royal shared on her podcast, "Tea Talks with the Duchess and Sarah."
