Sarah Ferguson, Reality Star?: Ex-Duchess Gave 1 Word Reply When Offered Slot on 'Strictly Come Dancing' Series
Sarah Ferguson was reportedly asked to appear on the BBC's hit dancing series Strictly Come Dancing earlier this year, which inevitably led to fan disappointment when Her former Royal Highness said "no."
"There was an approach earlier this year," a source told an outlet. "It was turned down immediately and no discussions took place, as the Duchess doesn’t consider reality TV offers."
This news follows a heated moment in early June when Fergie got stern with Good Morning Britain host Martin Lewis when he kept asking the ex-royal about the King Charles and Prince Andrew feud over the Royal Lodge.
"I tend not to get involved in brothers' discussions and I think that's the safest place to be," Ferguson pointedly told the broadcaster when asked about the rift. "Let the brothers discuss it between themselves."
"Bit of a damper... obviously, you live with Prince Andrew in Royal Lodge," Lewis began. "Do we know what's going on with that?"
"It's not a Debbie Downer [...] I'm a guest, for a start," Fergie replied. "I'm a very lucky guest and a very comfortable guest."
The ex-HRH was praised by one commenter on X who exclaimed: "Fergie is very much that b----! Passive she is not. He got what he deserved trying to sneak that in."
The snappy exchange comes amid recent revelations in the ongoing rift over the opulent property, not far from Windsor Castle. The feud is said to have started shortly after Charles III acceded to the throne in September 2022 before cooling off in late 2023.
Earlier, Ferguson attended the Cannes Film Festival on May 23, and despite looking "dazzling," the ex-royal "had a moment" while addressing an audience on stage. Fergie kept telling the gathered attendees to "be quiet" and "to stop" as she fumbled with her microphone and "made odd faces." The presentation was to thank artist Simon de Pury, whose portrait of the late Queen Elizabeth II fetched some 405,000 pounds for charity.
"Quiet!" she exclaimed. "Because the incredible person Simon de Pury has done an amazing job tonight, this is exceptional, and all I want to say to everyone in this room is stop, stop, stop."
Fergie then shared with the crowd: "Did you see I removed the microphone because all of you are saying 'I want to go, because where is the next party? What are we meant to be doing next?' But what I want to say is why are we here? What is the future, and why are we not making our planet better for the youth of tomorrow?"
The former royal has also won praise for "bravely" celebrating her life amid both a b----- and skin cancer battle within the last year.
Daily Express reported on their source's revelation.
