Snubbed! Royal Family Didn't Publicly Send Messages To Meghan Markle & Prince Harry On Their Third Wedding Anniversary
Dissed! Meghan Markle and Prince Harry celebrated their third wedding anniversary at home, but the pair didn't receive any public messages from the royal family on their special day.
Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles didn't send notes to the couple on social media, even though they congratulated Prince William and Kate Middleton on their 10th wedding anniversary in April.
Instead, William and Kate posted about the latter's trip to the V&A Museum in London, and they announced they would be heading to Scotland on their next royal tour.
Meanwhile, Charles posted photos from his Northern Ireland trip with his wife, Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall.
That same day, Buckingham Palace made a big announcement — they shared that Princess Beatrice and her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, are expecting their first child together.
"Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in autumn of this year. The Queen has been informed and both families are delighted with the news," the statement read.
Of course, people thought the royals were trying to get back at Harry and Meghan, who left the royal family in 2020 and then made some bombshell claims during an interview with Oprah Winfrey, which aired in March.
One person wrote, "I don’t think it’s [an] accident that Princess Beatrice announced her pregnancy on Prince Harry & Meghan’s third anniversary", while another added, "I have to wonder why did the palace decide to announce Beatrice’s baby news today. On the Prince and Princess Henry of wales anniversary, how petty. Congrats though Beatrice."
"Interesting coincidence that the #royal baby news was announced on Harry and #Meghan's wedding anniversary," Daily Mail royal editor Richard Eden wrote on Twitter. "Beatrice's sister, Princess Eugenie, was said to have been surprised that Meghan chose to announce that she was pregnant to guests at her wedding in 2018."
Royal expert Duncan Larcombe also noted that this was not a coincidence. “The fact it was Buckingham Palace that made the announcement proves this was not a simple oversight," he told Fabulous magazine. "A great deal of care is taken over the timings of major announcements such as Royal pregnancies, and it is extremely unlikely diary staff were unaware of the significance of the day for Harry and Meghan."
