Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have noticeably reduced their public appearances together over the past few months. Royal experts have also noted that they are prioritizing their individual ventures and charities. This shift has got the rumor mills running about a possible split. Reflecting on the same, royal historian Hugo Vickers made the bold claim that a day may come when Markle feels she no longer needs Harry and will call it quits on their marriage.
Vickers argues that people often act true to their character, noting that the Duchess tends to sever connections with those close to her when she feels they don't add to her life. Markle has famously distanced herself from several close friends as well as her family (father's side) and her royal in-laws. Reports suggest that tension also brews between Markle and tennis legend, Serena Williams, as well as TV host, Sophie Trudeau, as reported by The Mirror. Vickers said, "I hate to say it but her form is that she dumped her father, she dumped her first husband, she dumped her Canadian chef lover."
He added, "She dumped Jessica Mulroney. She then dumped the dumped entire British Royal family. So who is going to be next for the chop? I think inevitably, probably Prince Harry, and there'll come a time when she'll think that she doesn't need him." The expert also pointed out that, although it hasn't happened yet, Harry is likely to be portrayed as the one at fault in the future. Vickers said, "I don't know when she might make that particular call and it's not for me to speculate, but you know she will probably somehow put him in the wrong, so that she can say that she's a wronged woman, and he's just behaved like all the others."
As reported by The Sun, the expert added, "I mean I don't think she ever admits that she is wrong about anything, but I feel very sorry for Prince Harry, because I think he's in a very difficult place at the moment. I think he has been for some time. I don't think that her projects have done Harry any good." He argued that Harry thrives when he's involved in causes he's passionate about, like the Invictus Games. The biographer suggests that Harry has cast himself as a victim in his relationship with Markle, frequently airing grievances. This, he believes, contrasts sharply with the positive, uplifting spirit of the Invictus Games.
Royal expert, Tina Brown, also weighed in during a podcast. She suggested that Harry was being led like a 'lamb to the slaughter,' blindly following Markle as if he were a child. She also took aim at Markle’s decision-making, saying she consults with people, hears their advice, and then disregards it. Contrary to speculation, a source close to Harry and Markle, insisted that it's normal for couples to have separate careers and not do everything together.
