"The Kings have offered a lunch in honor of the President of the Republic of Colombia, Iván Duque, on the occasion of his Official Visit to Spain," a caption read on Twitter.
The Queen stopped to chat with the President's wife, María Juliana Ruiz, who donned a white dress, a black belt and black heels.
"The luncheon [was] in honor of the President of the Republic of Colombia [and] was attended by a large delegation from the Colombian Executive and the Spanish and regional governments, as well as [people] that promote investment, trade and development in both countries," another message read.
"Representing the cultural richness that both countries share, members of the academic world, literature, interpretation, Paralympic sport or science have also attended to welcome the President of the Republic of Colombia on his Official Visit to Spain," the note added.
"The King addressed the President of the Republic of Colombia, Iván Duque, during the lunch held in his honor. In his speech, he highlighted the ties that unite both countries and their projection into the future," the King and Queen's official Twitter account captioned a video of the dad-of-two speaking.
"Allow me, first of all, to give you the warmest and most cordial welcome today at this Royal Palace of Madrid. The Queen and I are deeply happy to finally receive you in Spain," King Felipe said. "The pandemic, which has caused so much pain and has truncated so many plans, both in Colombia and in our country, has forced us to postpone a visit that we are deeply happy to be able to resume, now that circumstances permit. It is an honor and a pleasure for us to welcome the friend — the friends of Spain — and the highest representative of the sister nation of Colombia, with which so many ties unite us."
