One proud grandma! While meeting with Thomas Trotter — she gave him The Queen's Medal for Music at Windsor Castle — royal fanatics couldn't help but notice a new photo on her mantle.
This time around, Queen Elizabeth showed off a cute photo of her great-grandkids.
In the photo, the monarch is holding Kate Middleton and Prince William's daughter, Princess Charlotte. Prince Philip, who passed away in April, is also in the photograph alongside Prince George and Peter Phillips' daughters, Isla and Savannah, and Zara Tindall's eldest daughter, Mia.
In another photo, there was a snapshot of the family, which the royals' shared in April after Prince Philip's death.
Though the Queen has been dealing with several health issues over the past few months, she seemed like she was in great shape on Wednesday, December 8.
"Today at Windsor Castle, The Queen presented Thomas Trotter with the 2020 Queen’s Medal for Music," a caption read of the cute moment. Mr. Trotter is one of the world’s most revered concert organists, and is the sixteenth recipient of the award. The Queen’s Medal for Music was established in 2005 to honour outstanding contribution to the musical life of the nation. Mr Trotter. has been the Birmingham City Organist since 1983, and is also a Visiting Fellow in Organ Studies at @rncmlive."
The message continued, "Her Majesty approved the award to Mr Trotter on St Cecilia’s day, fifteen years since the very first winner was honoured. #DYK the Queen’s Medal for Music can be awarded to groups, as well as individuals? Previous winners include @NYO_GB, Gary Crosby and Dame Emma Kirkby."
The Queen is even looking forward to seeing her brood for the holidays.
“This year, more than ever, it is incredibly important to Her Majesty to be surrounded by her loved ones," a palace insider said, The Mirror reported. “The Queen is totally committed to hosting everyone as she hopes to make it back to full health in the coming weeks. Her Majesty is resting under doctors’ orders with the intention of being able to fully enjoy the company of her extended family over the holiday period."
“After being forced to cancel a host of engagements, the family get-together will be the perfect tonic," the source added.
