Queen Camilla Tells All About Her 'Problem' With King Charles in New Documentary Bombshell
Queen Camilla, 77, is the subject of a new documentary titled Her Majesty The Queen: Behind Closed Doors, which explores her first year as King Charles III's Queen consort.
One telling moment in the program came when Her Majesty told a royal fan about her "problem" with the reigning monarch, 75.
The film opens with the Queen visiting Government House on the Isle of Mann in March 2024, which followed the reveal of the King's cancer diagnosis the month before. Upon meeting a victim of domestic abuse, which Her Majesty actively advocates against, the consort was asked how His Majesty was doing.
"He's doing really well," the Queen said. "The problem is, trying to stop him doing so much. That... that is the problem."
Queen Camilla also spoke out against the monarch's packed work schedule in August, when she and Charles III were supposed to be on vacation at Balmoral Castle near the Scottish Highlands.
"Camilla would have been deeply unhappy that having only begun his holiday on Monday, he broke it off on Tuesday to do an incredibly intense engagement," a friend of Her Majesty shared then.
"Of course, she understands it was very important and there is no way she would try to tell Charles what to do, but it seems to be extraordinary timing," they added. "She wants him to slow down, she is afraid he is working too hard."
This led another pal of the Queen to state, "She has been trying to encourage him to slow down. Of course, he wants to keep cracking on, but she is afraid that doing too much could set him back."
The royal power dynamics between monarch and consort also led an insider to dish in early October, "The Queen truly is the power behind the throne, and the King honestly likes it that way, I feel. This is especially true this past year as he battles cancer. It is somewhat disheartening for the Queen to see the Princess of Wales beat her cancer, but the King is still in limbo."
Royal staff within Clarence House, both upstairs and downstairs, refer to their Queen as "the lady boss."
For a royal consort whose motto is reportedly "thou shalt not whine," the nickname is "fitting," in the remarks of one royal insider. "The Queen knows there is a side to being royal that requires her to turn on the glam, but she much prefers to be similar to Princess Anne. She just wants to get on with the work, and the glitz is thankfully only an occasional requirement," they stated.
The Queen is currently battling a "serious" chest infection HM came down with after she and the King returned from Australia and Samoa in late October.
