Meghan Markle 'Created So Much Drama': Princess Kate's Uncle Blames Ex-Actress for Breakdown of Princes Harry and William's Bond
Gary Goldsmith, the uncle of Kate, Princess of Wales, is appearing on Celebrity Big Brother, and the businessman is letting his thoughts on the royals be known! On the Wednesday, March 6, episode, Goldsmith shared that Prince Harry "will want to reunite with Prince William and Princess Kate" when he returns to Britain in May for the Invictus Games anniversary.
Goldsmith boasted: "I can pretty much say my opinion about everything unless there’s a red laser dot on my chest," when asked by fellow contestant Louis Walsh if he could discuss the royal family.
Kate's uncle continued by sharing how he thinks "Harry was really, really loved, massively loved" and that "they looked really comfortable together," when remembering his niece and Princes William and Harry out on royal engagements before Harry met Meghan Markle in 2016.
Goldsmith said that the Suits star "put a stick in the spokes and created so much drama that I genuinely don’t think was there and rewrote the history and said how unhappy [Harry] was, and I don’t think that’s fair."
He continued: "You can’t throw your family under the bus in such a dramatic style and write books about it and then expect to be invited around for Christmas. I just think it’s really sad. At some point, I think he’s going to come back and be part of the gang."
The future queen's relative pointed out that Harry "might need to" return to the U.K. He observed: "I think we’re a very forgiving nation. I think everyone will give him a chance again. I think the meanest thing I said was, 'He wouldn’t make my pub quiz team.'"
Then he came to the topic of his niece and what it is like to be related to someone who will one day be called "Queen Catherine."
"Do you want the absolute truth? I didn’t vote for it; it happened to me, and then suddenly there’s a spotlight on you," Goldsmith spilled.
Goldsmith makes his appearance as the Princess of Wales continues to recover from a "serious" abdominal surgery she received on January 16. The future queen was spotted in a car with her mother, Carole, on Monday, March 4, and is still expected to return to royal duties "after Easter."
His decision to join the series has been called the "most controversial signing ever," since the businessman has been publicly vocal about his "disdain" for Meghan and Prince Harry.
One royal insider claimed that his "boneheaded" quips and takes on the pair "reflect the Princess of Wales' family" and is a "great embarrassment" for her since she "fully believes" in the silence and dignity code of "being royal."
GBN reported on Goldsmith's comments.
