Princess Eugenie’s Pregnancy Joy Overshadowed by William’s Stern Andrew Ultimatum
Although happy for his cousin, Prince William is reportedly on his toes regarding one event that may force him to share a room with Andrew.
After Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's shameful arrest, the Palace received some good news this year when his daughter, Princess Eugenie, announced on May 4 that she was pregnant with her third child. While King Charles was 'delighted' by the news, the same cannot really be said for Prince William. Although happy for his cousin, he is reportedly remaining cautious about the baby's christening event. Sources claim he has made it clear that he would not share a room with Mountbatten-Windsor, firmly reinforcing his boundaries.
In an article on his Substack, Naughty But Nice, royal columnist Rob Shuter revealed that Eugenie's joy is now overshadowed by 'serious tension behind Palace doors.' He claimed to have spoken to an insider who spilled that the Prince of Wales has allegedly 'drawn a hard line': if Eugenie's father attends the child's christening, he will not. They said, "William will not be in the same room as Andrew, not for this, not for anything. If Andrew is there, William won't be. It's that clear." His alleged strict boundaries leave King Charles facing an impossible choice between inviting his brother or his son to the ceremony.
Meanwhile, the source alleged that Sarah Ferguson is not expected to visit the UK for her grandchild's christening either. They continued, "She's extremely cautious about returning right now. There are concerns about potential legal exposure, and she's not taking risks." Eugenie's child is set to be 15th in line to the throne, which Shuter said was a "symbolic detail more than a powerful one." Positioned 15th in line, he/she will displace Prince Edward to the 16th spot and even rank above Princess Anne, the hardest-working royal. The child will also hold a significant position in the family's legacy, as he/she would be the 15th great-grandchild of the late Queen Elizabeth.
In a formal statement released on @theroyalfamily's Instagram, the Palace shared Eugenie's happiness, noting, "Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their third child together, due this summer… His Majesty the King has been informed and is delighted with the news." The announcement came with a picture of her two sons, August and Ernest, holding an ultrasound scan. As per the Palace, the boys "are also very excited to have another sibling join the family."
