Royal Scandal Near Miss: Princes Harry and William 'Dodged a Bullet' by Declining Past Invites to Sean 'Diddy' Combs' 'Wild' Parties
Princes Harry and William had numerous "wild parties" during the 2000s, but none likely would have compared to a Sean "Diddy" Combs-hosted night, which they "smartly declined."
This led royal author Christopher Andersen to tell Fox News, "Diddy invited both William and Harry back when, as he put it, the brothers 'were young bucks getting into trouble themselves.' Obviously, in their youth, both princes made plenty of headlines with their party animal antics at nightclubs in and around London."
"Diddy made a point of inviting them to his parties," he added. "But those invitations were wisely turned down, and after William and Kate got engaged, Diddy got the hint and stopped inviting them altogether. As young bachelors, William and Harry might easily have said yes and attended one of Diddy's wild parties. Thanks to their palace handlers, they dodged a bullet there."
Combs faces serious legal issues, including charges of racketeering and s-- trafficking. These allegations come after years of accusations of physical and sexual abuse leveled against the rap star.
The record producer was arrested in New York on September 16, and if convicted, faces a potential life sentence. His legal battles have also triggered a wave of public scrutiny and further allegations from others surrounding "freak off" tapes, which is what the iconic record executive called his filmed "drug-fueled s-- marathons" with major celebs.
Singer Jaguar Wright caused a sensation on Saturday, September 26, when the R&B crooner spilled big celeb and politician names on who she "knows" has a Combs tape.
Wright claimed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex filmed a so-called tape with the disgraced record producer, as well as the scandalous Duke of York.
Despite these accusations, numerous sources believe Harry and Meghan have never met Combs, and the claim against Andrew — although some find it credible thanks to his Jeffrey Epstein links — is also "up in the air."
The rap star also met the two princes during the summer of 2007's "Concert for Diana" performance at London's Wembley Stadium. Although allegations that both princes attended some of the mogul's parties are circulating, Combs himself put those rumors to bed in a 2011 appearance on Britain's The Graham Norton Show.
"Before when they were young bucks growing up and they were getting in a lot of trouble themselves, so, hey, I was like, 'Why don’t you come hang out with me?'" he told the host then.
Combs added, "Trust me, they're off the list."
This revelation likely had palace courtiers breathing a collective sigh of relief as British royals are "quite sensitive" to controversy "much more than any other type of famous people," a Hollywood insider shared.
"Accepting an invite could have destroyed them — they are not normal celebs where scandal can easily be spun," they added.
