Prince William 'Inspires Me Deeply': Princess Diana's Niece Lady Kitty Spencer Lauds Future King for His 'Vital' Work With the Homeless
Diana, Princess of Wales' niece, Lady Kitty Spencer, has nothing but praise for her cousin and future king, Prince William.
"I'm extremely proud of my cousin Prince William for all that he does and continues to do to support Centrepoint and the vital work they provide to homeless young people," the aristocrat told an outlet.
The chat came nearly one week after the Prince of Wales delivered a "stirring" speech about homelessness at London's Centrepoint Awards on Wednesday, October 16.
Lady Kitty added, "His dedication to Centrepoint throughout the years has been unwavering, and his efforts have made a significant impact in raising awareness and driving positive change for those in need. Seeing my cousin’s commitment firsthand inspires me deeply and reinforces the importance of our shared mission."
The noblewoman shares the future monarch's passion for helping those without shelter and the disadvantaged. Her aunt used to take William and Prince Harry to homeless shelters for visits when they were younger. Lady Kitty also spoke about attending "sleepouts" with friends on London's streets, just like the Prince of Wales used to do in his 20s and 30s.
Lady Kitty's words of positivity come at a precarious time for the future king family-wise. Lady Kitty and her sisters, the Ladies Amelia and Eliza, all daughters of Charles, 9th Earl Spencer, all attended the awards ceremony with William.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry’s absence from family gatherings, including the funeral of his uncle Lord Robert Fellowes in August, has fueled speculation about the Sussexes' complete detachment from both the royal family and the Spencer side.
However, the Duke of Sussex does "seemingly" have the backing of Earl Spencer, Diana's brother, and his aunts, the Ladies Jane Fellowes and Sarah McCorquodale.
Amid security concerns, Harry has also distanced himself from family traditions and gatherings in the U.K., further complicating any potential reconciliation. Insiders believe that the feud could last for decades, casting doubt on whether the brothers will ever mend their relationship.
Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, is also said to play a part in the rift, if not being "the outright cause of it," in the words of one palace insider. The ex-actress has not set foot in Britain since Queen Elizabeth II's funeral in September 2022.
Lady Kitty, along with her sisters are members of the "prestigious" noble Spencer family, who are closely connected to the British royal family through their late aunt, Diana. These women, daughters of Earl Spencer with his first wife, Victoria Aitken, have garnered public attention not only due to their aristocratic heritage but also for their roles as fashion icons and philanthropists.
His Royal Highness is the subject of an upcoming documentary on Britain's ITV network called Prince William: We Can End Homelessness, which commemorates the first year of his Homewards initiative.
