Royal Kids Set for Regal 'Spoiling': Prince William and Kate Middleton to Shower George, Charlotte and Louis With Gifts After Emotional Year
After a challenging year marked by Catherine, Princess of Wales' public battle with cancer, the future queen and Prince William are reportedly planning to treat their children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis — to special experiences in 2025.
Royal commentator Ingrid Seward suggested that the couple intends to "spoil" their children, acknowledging the emotional impact of Kate's illness on the young royals.
Seward notes that the family may embark on a skiing trip during the Easter holidays and are likely planning a significant summer vacation, especially since they reportedly did not travel extensively last year.
She emphasizes the close bond among the siblings, stating, "They're close in age, they all enjoy sports, and they're bound by the situation they're in. They're all in it together, and I think that makes them even closer."
The Prince and Princess of Wales are known for balancing their royal duties with a commitment to providing a nurturing and private upbringing for their children.
"Like many famous parents, they are cautious about exposing the children to too much scrutiny in this digital age," Seward explained. "They know they must produce the children at certain times, but I think they very much keep them under wraps the rest of the time."
Princess Kate's recent public appearances, including hosting the annual "Together at Christmas" carol concert at Westminster Abbey, have been well-received, indicating her return to royal engagements following her health challenges.
The event featured performances by artists such as Paloma Faith, Olivia Dean and Gregory Porter, showcasing the Princess's dedication to her charitable initiatives and public service.
As the family looks forward to 2025, their plans reflect a desire to create joyful memories and maintain a sense of normalcy for their children, despite the public nature of their lives.
The anticipated vacations and family time are seen as opportunities for the young royals to enjoy their childhood away from the spotlight, fostering a supportive environment as they grow up within the royal family.
Despite the shared joy, William and Kate are said to be in a "heated" ongoing argument on where to send their firstborn to school, with the next king favoring his former school Eton College, and his future queen reportedly against it.
Heirs to the British throne throughout the centuries have typically been raised in a rigid and far more public-facing life in line with the Crown's ancient code of lifetime service for its monarchs in serving their people. However, the future King George VII is different, and even his childhood has been less duty-bound than his father's was during the 1980s and 1990s.
Numerous royal commentators credit the future queen with this new trend in line "with how modern society functions."
