Prince William and his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, reportedly had a "fierce row" once regarding the safety concerns with the future king's helicopter piloting. The unexpected royal clash was revealed in author Robert Jobson's new book Catherine, the Princess of Wales: A Biography of the Future Queen.

Queen Elizabeth II and Prince William had a loving and supportive relationship, but there 'were a few disagreements between the pair.'

"An experienced pilot, William had upset the late Queen when he defied her request not to pilot his family the 115 miles from Kensington Palace to Anmer Hall, their home in Norfolk," Jobson wrote. "The Queen, haunted by the 1967 crash that killed the Captain of the Queen's Flight (although no royals were on board), 'did not hold back', one aide said."

The scribe also shared how the Prince of Wales' mode of travel was also pushed back on recently by King Charles III.

"One recent source of disagreement is William's stubborn refusal to take his father's advice on safeguarding the succession. Earlier this year, the King had raised concerns with his son about the wisdom of William using his helicopter to fly his entire family around the country," the author shared.

British royal protocol dictates that those in the immediate succession to the Crown should always travel separately, no matter their ages. This rule was also famously rebuffed by William's late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, who refused Her late Majesty's request that a baby William not travel with then-Prince Charles on the same flight to Australia in 1983.

'The Queen always respected Prince William's decisions, but not when it came to his travel habits,' a former courtier spilled.

The King once said how his mother and William's grandmother "understood the weight of the crown," which is what one royal insider spoke about when addressing concerns over the future king.

"He gets it, you can be sure of that," the source spilled. "Prince William is unique in how he does and will combine all the best elements of his mother, his father and his grandmother. He has Diana's compassion, Charles' resilience and the late Queen's unyielding passion for serving her people."

Prince William immediately inherited the Duchy of Cornwall upon Queen Elizabeth II's death and King Charles III's accession.

This revelation comes amid reports highlighting William's first year as the heir to the British throne, which set the future king into a "super nice windfall." The news revealed that His Royal Highness made some 30 million pounds from the Duchy of Cornwall estate from the fiscal year 2023-2024.

The Duchy of Cornwall's estate is valued at approximately 1 billion pounds. This valuation includes its extensive portfolio of land, property, and investments. The exact value can fluctuate based on market conditions and the performance of its diverse assets. The Duchy's annual income, which is used to support the activities of the Prince of Wales and his family, also reflects the estate's significant worth and is subject to regular public financial reporting.
