Royals — they're just like us! After Prince William and Kate Middleton put their three kids — Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 6, and Prince Louis, 3 — to bed, "William will bring Kate a gin-and-tonic," a family friend dished to PEOPLE. "They look after each other, but in different ways."
In the past year, the two haven't been shy about showing affection towards one another. In fact, when they posed for their 10-year anniversary photo, they looked very much in love.
“I would say that they were just like any married couples,” photographer Chris Floyd told Us Weekly about their interaction. “They were just like any married couple who seemed to just love being very happy in each other’s company. It was that straightforward.”
“I just said, ‘Look, this is your 10th anniversary, just be the couple that you are with each other and forget that I’m here,'" he continued. “They don’t need me to tell them how to be with each other.”
Last week, the family-of-five released their Christmas photo, which was taken in Jordan over the summer. In the snap, the pair and their children appear happier than ever.
"The first thing that strikes me about the photo is that everybody pictured is flashing a genuine smile. So often in photographs, no matter how important the person being photographed is, fake smiles are shown and faces can seem very disingenuous," body language expert Darren Stanton noted. "In this particular picture, everyone is displaying genuine emotion, which would suggest it’s a very happy time for the family right now."
"Kate always flashes a great smile, her whole face is engaged and her Crow’s feet — the three lines at the side of the eyes — are visible, which denotes a genuine smile and it is congruent with how open and inviting the rest of her body language is," he continued. "Her maternal intuition beams through, as she has her hand on the back of Prince George in a reassuring way."
