'No Longer in His Life': Prince William Has 'Blotted' Prince Harry Completely Out of His Mind
Prince William is done with Prince Harry.
The Prince of Wales reportedly "no longer regards" his younger brother as "a person in his life," which is a culmination of the past few years of the Duke of Sussex's "attacks" on his character.
"The bricks that have been thrown, the insults, the allegations, the accusations, the hurt, the pain, the rift is too deep now between William and Harry, I think," veteran royal reporter Jennie Bond told an outlet when pointing out the "severe" disconnect between the royal siblings.
She continued: "I personally think William has more or less blotted Harry out of his mind, out of life, and is focused on his role, his family, and what he has to do. And I think he regards Harry as a nonperson, really, in his life, which is terribly sad."
Bond then observed: "How would William feel? William, [is] steadfast — William, who has loyally stood by his father, who has stepped up to the plate when necessary."
The rift seemed to become an unforgivable chasm once Harry published his memoir, Spare, in January 2023, just as King Charles III began his coronation year.
The Montecito Duke slammed his sibling multiple times in the tome, even going so far as bizarrely compare William's look with their mother, Diana, Princess of Wales. Harry also ragged on the future king's "balding head," as well.
"William would feel profoundly hurt, aggrieved. So that's not going to happen," Bond said of any possibility of a brotherly reunion where William reaches out first. "There's an element of not letting the little brother have his cake and eat it, isn't there? I think that he sort of shut that door and that's a kind of coping mechanism of sorts."
"And I think that's always been the line with William," the journalist stated. "It's like he's got broad shoulders, but don't come anywhere near criticizing Kate, because she doesn't deserve it."
The royal expert added: "I think there's been so much pain that he just has said, 'I actually can't handle that right now. I've got a heck of a lot on my plate. And now my wife has had this serious surgery, I can't do it.'"
Bond, who worked as the BBC's royal correspondent from 1989-2003, says she is "shocked" at how William and Harry's bond has been broken. After covering the drama of the then-Prince Charles and Diana, Princess of Wales, in the ‘90s — including the late princess' 1997 death — Bond had a front-row view of how close the brothers became as the 2000s progressed. That bond is not only broken, but according to one royal source, William "hates" Harry now.
The Sun reported on Bond's insights.
