Prince Harry Trip Royal 'Snub' Checklist: 'Let's Just Say Queen Camilla Might Be Otherwise Engaged'
Prince Harry once called Queen Camilla "dangerous," and it would seem both he and Her Majesty are likely not to meet when the California Duke visits Britain on Wednesday, May 8.
"Let's just say that the Queen might be otherwise engaged," a royal source spilled. "Although the King will have time in his diary for a brief visit, that hasn’t been confirmed yet due to the garden party schedule."
"Even if Harry does meet with his father, it is highly unlikely that Camilla will be in the same room," they added. "Harry did the right thing by flying over in February. But it was very much a last-minute surprise and was somewhat forced upon the household. The optics wouldn’t have been good if a meeting didn’t take place at that time."
The source continued: "Health permitting, the King is due to attend the garden party at Buckingham Palace on May 8. If a meeting with Harry were to take place it would have to be just before or after that. There won’t be any special arrangements made for a meeting, but one could be squeezed into plans already in place."
Mid to late spring is typically Garden Party season at Buckingham Palace, and with King Charles' ongoing cancer treatments, sources claim the monarch will need to conserve his strength between engagements.
As for the Duke of Sussex and Her Majesty The Queen, there was never likely to be a meeting to begin with between these two. Previous reports revealed that Harry "can't stand" his stepmother, and this has allegedly been the case for years.
"Camilla has been working overtime to support the monarchy; just last month, she reportedly drove over six hours to a royal engagement after her flight was grounded because she reportedly didn’t want to let down her husband," royal reporter Kinsey Schofield dished in March. "I think the fact that Queen Camilla is seen as leading the family is significant proof that Prince Harry would not return to temporarily support the family because Camilla’s elevated position is likely something not sitting well with him right now."
The entertainment analyst went on to reveal: "I imagine the idea of her leading the family is something he has a hard time digesting."
Despite years of silence on the matter after a then-Prince Charles married his future queen in 2005, the Duke of Sussex "shocked many" when he wrote negatively about his stepmother in Spare. The 39-year-old reportedly feels that his mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, who died nearly 27 years ago, should be called Queen since he "can only picture her with that title next to his father, the King," according to a palace insider.
