All Hail the Queen: Prince Harry Thinks Meghan Markle 'Should Take Over' as Britain's Ruler and Update the Monarchy
"Her Majesty Queen Meghan, Head of the Commonwealth, Supreme Governor of the Church of England, Defender of the Faith..." Prince Harry reportedly thinks that his California-born and raised wife should "take over as queen."
"[Harry] thinks that it was very bad that Meghan wasn't questioned about what should be done to make the royal family up to date," royal author Angela Levin dished when discussing a Sussex-led monarchy scenario.
"And [Meghan] said herself that she felt that they should have asked her what should be done rather than Kate because she is a self-made woman, and she's got much more experience," Levin added.
Meghan would never become Britain's reigning monarch, which is dictated by an ancient royal bloodline codified in an Act of Parliament known as the Succession to the Crown. Only Harry as a blood prince would ever stand a remote chance of becoming the sovereign, and only if King Charles III, Prince William, and his three children were to all pass away.
If such a "wild scenario" ever transpired in reality, the Duchess of Sussex would become "Queen Meghan," but only as a consort to her husband, the monarch.
Despite the ex-actress' reported ambitions to claim St Edward's Crown, Levin also revealed how much the late Queen Elizabeth II did to try and accommodate the Suits star.
"The Queen did everything possible," she added. "She gave them top aides to help her and she did say that Meghan could carry on acting if she wanted. The more you think about it in retrospect, the more you see that, whatever happened, [Meghan] wasn't going to stay there."
Levin then observed how "she was going to take Harry away because she got what she wanted: A title and lots of money. But he hasn't got as much money as she wanted, [and] she's a bit upset about that. She thought it would be more."
She continued: "[Harry] was loved. Meghan was admired when she first came. But it was all a plot. They want to bring down the royal family and get rid of the press. No more newspapers. That's his thing that he wants to do forever to get control of it."
Levin concluded: "The other thing is, of course, they can't trust Harry because he's taken sentences and sold them to journalists to make another documentary. He's not having that. Harry's been very rude about William — you can't take it."
The Duchess of Sussex has not been back to the U.K since the state funeral of Elizabeth II on September 19, 2022. There is growing speculation the former actress may join Prince Harry on his trip to Britain on May 8.
