The 'Weight' of the Crown: Prince Harry Strained by Rising Tide of Royal Disapproval With Full Palace Shut Out Imminent
Royal courtiers in King Charles III's court have it in for Prince Harry.
"After missing his old friend the Duke of Westminster’s recent wedding and now being kept out of Trooping the Colour, Harry is feeling the increasing weight of royal disapproval," author Tom Quinn dished.
"For the second year running Harry and Meghan have not been invited to Trooping the Colour which always coincides with King Charles’ official birthday," he added. "This did not come as a surprise, but it will still hurt."
In what one royal insider called the full display of "Sussex greed," Harry and Meghan apparently could "care less" about attending royal ceremonies — but become "enraged" when not invited. "The Sussexes want to be invited to these things, even if they then decide not to attend," Quinn continued. "What’s really frustrating for Harry is that at one time he thought his absence from royal events would lead to increasing efforts to persuade him to attend, but those days are long over."
The Duchess of Sussex has reportedly not set foot in the United Kingdom since Queen Elizabeth II's State Funeral in September 2022. Harry has returned intermittently since, but always seems to receive a "frosty reception" from his family. and has not been invited to stay in any of the numerous royal residences, each of these times.
Meghan ghostee Lizzie Cundy tore into her former bestie's spouse in response to these reports. "Let’s not forget, this is a 75-year-old man suffering with cancer, going on with all his duties, at Trooping the Colour he was stood there in the pouring rain. You just think, 'Wow, this man is absolutely incredible,' he is everything Harry isn't."
Others have consistently criticized the Duke of Sussex for his "overt betrayal" of his family thanks to his bestselling 2023 memoir, Spare. Analysts are also quick to place his Duchess "right where she belongs" as the main culprit of their critiques, or as another outspoken royal insider called her: "the ultimate mastermind behind it all."
"Meghan’s desperate to come across as the bigger person and end this feud between them — appearing like some sort of royal savior could only do her image good," the insider further added. "And, despite all their bad blood, her heart does go out to Kate — she can only imagine how hard this situation must be for her."
The source observed how the Suits alum "has made it clear she’d love nothing more than to move past all the nonsense and find a way towards healing for everyone’s sake," before concluding: "She's ready to let the anger and bitterness go."
If reports are to be believed, Harry's "dream" is to divide his time equally between the U.K. and Montecito, Calif.
