Prince Harry's Power Play: Rebel Duke's South African Trip Success Sparks 'Very Dangerous' Trouble for King Charles and Queen Camilla's Monarchy
Prince Harry is on a positive PR roll thanks to his "successful" two-week-long solo trips in NYC, London and South Africa. The Duke has represented a wide range of charitable causes in the last fortnight, and he did it all without Meghan Markle or the British royal family.
This led royal expert and Harry-biographer-turned-fierce-critic Angela Levin to tell an outlet, "His eight solo engagements in nine days on his own is a very interesting thing."
"He's gone to all these charities he used to work with as a working royal and I think it’s a way to say, 'I don’t need the royal family, I can do this on my own and I can do this much better because everyone still loves me.' I think that is a very dangerous thing to do."
The royal rebel's star has been rising for many experts and analysts, both pro and anti-Sussex, ever since he began a series of solo trips starting in mid-2023.
"I must say that when he is out and about all by himself like this, I adore him just as I did before he ever met Meghan," one royal fan shared on X. "He is charming, articulate and looks interested, which is more than I can say for King Charles and Queen Camilla sometimes."
However, Levin was having none of it.
"I think the royal family will come up with something because they can’t have this," she added. "It's appalling."
Levin's interviewer, Nana Akua, pointed out all the good causes His reluctant Royal Highness promoted, but the author wasn't impressed.
"He wasn’t there for very long," she replied before pointing out, "Also, he tells us all how he doesn’t like the paparazzi and press, he was loving it out there."
Therefore, Harry is left back in the "love him or hate him" category for many royal watchers.
Since Harry and Meghan left the Crown in early 2020, the duo have amassed a "whopping" $62.5 million dollars alone based solely on their projects. Meghan was rumored to have been worth roughly $5 million when she met her future Duke in 2016, whereas Harry had a reported $25 million dollars of inherited wealth in the bank. The ex-actress garnered her "handful of millions" primarily from her acting role on the legal drama series Suits.
The duo signed megawatt deals in the fall of that year, "back when they were a hot commodity," as one royal insider described it. Spotify inked the "tell-all royals" for the podcast "Archetypes," which flopped, leading to the cancelation of their contract in June 2023.
Nevertheless, although distant at times if reports are to be believed, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are "most definitely" living their best lives.
Sky News Australia reported on Levin's remarks.
