Ring Ring… No King! Prince Harry Gets the Royal Brush Off From Charles III Amid Security Detail Standoff Phone Calls
When Prince Harry reportedly rings up King Charles III, the monarch likes to shoo palace aides away in order to avoid his youngest son's ongoing security concerns.
"Now, even his own father is not taking his calls," royal expert Emily Andrews shared. "I'm told that when courtiers bring the phone to the King (Charles doesn't have his own mobile phone) he waves them away in irritation."
Speaking about the California Duke's strained relationship with his family, Andrews added, "After the brickbats, 'truth bombs' and accusations of Oprah, Netflix and Harry's Spare, he lost his older brother, strained his relationship with various members of the royal family to breaking point and left many old friends and trusted staff behind."
Regarding why His Majesty waves off Harry's calls, Andrews continued, "This is not because there's been yet another falling out. Rather, it is thought to be because Harry wants to continuously discuss his ongoing battle for security, which he has been fighting in the court for four years and believes Charles has the power to reinstate."
The monarch cannot outright decide on royal security, which is governmentally established only to be available to senior, full-time working members of the monarchy. The Duke of Sussex and his family no longer fulfill the latter part of that precedent.
Although Harry is bogged down in a bitter feud with nearly all of his family, it is suggested the only senior royal he (at one time recently) communicated with was Charles III. The monarch even decided to meet with his youngest son back in February, one day after his cancer diagnosis was made public. Some reports suggest the pair only met for 12 minutes, and the King declined to see his rebel son again when the Duke visited Britain on May 8 for an Invictus Games event.
The fifth in line to the throne is said to be "adamant" in his determination to get in touch with his father, as he reportedly feels that both he and his family could be in danger.
"Harry is frightened and feels the only person who can do anything about it is his father," a Sussex source spilled to an outlet.
Another source came forward and stated: "Harry is determined to protect his own family at all costs."
But amid the Duke's legitimate concerns for his family's safety, anything his father could do may be falling on deaf ears as the King was allegedly the last holdout of senior royals communicating with Team Sussex.
Andrews concluded, "Those close to Harry say the King no longer even answers his letters. He gets 'unavailable right now' and his calls go unanswered, says a friend."
Daily Mirror reported on Andrews' remarks.
