Prince Harry's Private Royal Comment Sparks Outrage — 'Disgusted' Friend Now 'Refuses to Speak' to Rebel Duke
Prince Harry reportedly trashed his family in private to one of his longtime friends who apparently took the insults to heart... permanently.
"I was told of one former confidant, who for many years couldn’t have been closer to Harry, who was so disgusted by his behavior — and, in particular, by some of the things he apparently said privately about his family — that they vowed never to talk to him again. And they haven’t," royal expert Rebecca English shared.
Millions of his and Meghan Markle's supporters felt differently thanks to the prince's bombshell memoir Spare becoming the fastest-selling nonfiction book in history. However, thanks to Harry's choice of words in the tome, specifically for his brother, William, Prince of Wales, and sister-in-law, Catherine, Princess of Wales, the royals seem to be following his friend's example.
"The problem for the King and other members of the family is the worry that if they have a chat with Harry, it will appear in Spare volume two," a source spilled.
"How do you regain the trust?" they asked. "I don’t think Harry ever can. But from the conversations I’ve had with the King, I would never say their relationship is irreparable. The King’s capacity to forgive his son is undimmed. There are other members of the royal family who are much more weighted against Harry, that’s the problem."
When asked if there was a level of revenge at play when Charles III booted the Sussex family from Frogmore Cottage in June 2023, they replied, "The evidence is there, clearly, for everyone to see. He has been kicked out of the home that would have made it possible for him to come back on a regular basis."
This insight comes as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's year is busy with new Netflix projects, the Duchess' brand launch, film premieres, numerous visits and two "faux royal tours" under their belts. But amid the busy Sussex schedule, British royal courtiers are said to find the couple's constant output to be chaotic.
"Buckingham Palace would prefer that Harry and Meghan retire into quiet obscurity, but that is not going to happen," royal editor Tom Sykes dished. "They are private citizens, so they cannot be banned from going or not going anywhere."
Although some analysts feel Harry's expected royal assistance to William would be "brotherly," others think the Prince of Wales' chaotic year in comparison doesn't have the next king wishing for a sibling reunion.
"Make no mistake, William is keeping Kate and his family well away from Meghan and Harry," former royal butler to Diana, Princess of Wales, Paul Burrell, told an outlet.
