Prince Harry's Memoir Will Likely Prevent Him & Prince William From Ever Truly Reconciling, Predicts Expert: 'There's No Way'
It doesn't seem like the New Year will bring a fresh start for Prince William and Prince Harry.
According to The Mirror, BBC's former royal correspondent Peter Hunt was discussing the brothers' relationship when he predicted that the Duke of Sussex's upcoming memoir will prevent the pair from ever making amends.
"I think there is no way it will because he promised for it [his memoir] to be a truthful account," he stated. "He clearly has a huge amount of hurt around how his exit from the royal family was handled, and I think he will detail the breakdown of his relationship with his father."
"Remember in the Oprah interview, he talked about his father not returning his calls, the breakdown of his relationship with his brother William, and various other details about it," continued Hunt. "I think at some point, the institution may reflect on how it could have handled it differently."
Many believe that the siblings first began to drift apart when Harry's romance with Meghan Markle heated up, as William thought they were moving too fast.
The father-of-three's lack of support irked Harry, especially since he had always been fond of his relationship with Kate Middleton.
Things worsened once Harry left the royal family and made several damaging accusations against them. He could do so again in his memoir, which is expected to be released in the fall of 2022.
In fact, royal editor Ingrid Seward believes the tome will put William in an even worse position.
"William is probably the one that will come out of this worst of all because there is a row between William and Harry, and basically if Harry says things that are inappropriate about the monarchy, that is William’s future," she said on GB News. "It’s not Harry’s future, he is out of it now, but it is William’s future."
At the moment, royal expert Omid Scobie claimed the duo are keeping their "distance."
"I don't just mean physical [distance], across the Atlantic, but they are not talking that much, and that is exactly how sources close to William have put it," he told Entertainment Tonight.
