Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Are 'Spoilt' and Their 'Agenda' Is 'Hurtful' to the Royal Family
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's ongoing feud with the royal family continues in the new year.
"They are spoilt, they have an agenda. That agenda is very unhelpful and hurtful to his family," royal correspondent Michael Cole dished when discussing Team Sussex's numerous royal tell-alls.
"He said he misses Britain and misses the British way of life, well it is a strange way of showing it," Cole added when highlighting a statement of Harry's from his and Meghan's December 2022 Netflix documentary, Harry & Meghan.
In that program, the Duke of Sussex said: "I miss the weird family gatherings when we are all sort of brought together under one roof for certain times of the year. So I miss the U.K., I miss my friends."
The fifth in line to the throne visited Britain a handful of times throughout 2023, including an "in and out" visit to his father's crowning last May, in addition to his historic appearance in the High Court the following month. In September of that year, the Duke visited Queen Elizabeth II's tomb on the first anniversary of her death, where he was photographed. He did not meet with his dad during this stop either.
The former actress did not make a single appearance or visit to the nation that made her a royal throughout 2023. Her last visit was to Elizabeth II's funeral on September 19, 2022.
"Their problem this year is to come out of another box to find something new to say. We've heard all the criticism, relentlessly, [and] repetitively, of their own family," Cole added.
He continued: "It is a great tragedy that the King never sees his grandchildren, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet. When the Queen [Elizabeth II] was alive and there were thoughts of Prince Harry leaving Frogmore cottage in Windsor, he said to his father, 'But don't you want to see your grandchildren,'" Cole observed. "I'm sure that's a great pain to him because every time you see the King with his family, it's very obvious he has a tactile approach. He shows the affection to his family that perhaps as a child he didn't receive himself."
Harry and Meghan phoned the monarch on his 75th birthday on November 14, 2023, which apparently included the royal rebels showing His Majesty a video of Archie and Lilibet. The King was said to be "furious" the next day when details of the supposed private call were being discussed in public. As a sitting head of state, the sovereign's phone calls are expected to be exclusive and non-public.
It is unclear if the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will visit or phone any other senior royals as this year begins.
