Meghan Markle and Prince Harry may need to reevaluate their relationship with the royal family if they hope to restore their "fast-sinking brand" in America.

"The people that you would think would hover around them and steal a bit of the limelight" are "just not seeing any value there," even with Harry and Meghan's "proximity [to] the royal family," PR expert Esther Krakue dished.

King Charles III is reportedly the only senior royal who speaks with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

"This is a couple that went from having deals with Netflix and Spotify — these multimillion-pound deals. They were having interviews with Oprah. You couldn't run away from them in the headlines. They were literally everywhere. Everyone was thinking, 'What are they going to do next? Are they going to bring down the royal family?'" Krakue added.

She continued: "That's really all just shattered under their own feet because they really just didn't understand a lot of the fundamental, key characteristics that's made the royal family effectively last this long."

It is exactly the couple's numerous tell-alls, which they have profited from, that numerous commentators claim has forever spoiled their chance at returning to the monarchy. Many analysts remain skeptical that King Charles III could ever truly forgive his youngest son, based on the allegations he leveled at Queen Camilla in his memoir, Spare. Charles III has always been deeply protective of the love of his life, and was sad to be "furious" when Harry called her "dangerous" in his bestselling tome.

There is also the rift between Prince William and Kate, Princess of Wales, which is categorized as "nuclear" when compared to the animosity the King and Queen may feel toward Team Sussex. In the book, the Duke of Sussex spent page after page detailing arguments and disagreements with his brother and candidly wrote about Kate in negative terms when it came to her supposed treatment of Meghan.

But despite the explosions of anger Harry's autobiography may have caused the House of Windsor earlier this year, it was reported that the King was the only senior royal to remain on speaking terms with the California duo. Charles III consistently invited Harry and Meghan to royal events, but the invitations may very well have stopped coming, since it was leaked by a Sussex source that the palace did not send one for the monarch's birthday.

All of this follows the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's recent naming as two of 2023's "biggest losers" by a major Hollywood publication. With a year of near-constant negative headlines, several royal experts and Sussex commentators predict that 2024 could possibly make or break the pair depending on the choices they make.
