Sussexes Quickly Retake the Spotlight: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's New Netflix Project Teaser Drops Mere Hours After Kate Middleton Cancer Update Video
Kate, Princess of Wales, announced the end of her successful cancer treatments in a cinematic new video showcasing images of herself, Prince William and their three children. Only hours later, a teaser tweet on X from Netflix about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's new documentary POLO dropped.
Could this be yet another coincidence?
Although it is unknown if the streamer tease was timed to coincide with Her Royal Highness' video, this led one commenter on X to share, "F--- off you losers... I'm sure you will release it during Catherine's Christmas special. Boycott Netflix!"
Another concurred with that sentiment by saying, "Thankfully, I dropped Netflix after they signed the despicable duo."
A third commenter, lost in the sea of negative reactions, defended the Sussex duo by stating, "Exciting! Can't wait for the premiere in December. Behind-the-scenes action sounds captivating."
Netflix said of the show, "POLO is a new documentary series that follows elite global players and offers an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the fast-paced world of the sport. From Archewell Productions and Boardwalk Pictures."
The future queen is officially cancer-free and shared in the "moving" new clip on @kensingtonroyal's official social accounts, "As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment. The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family," HRH then poignantly added, "Life as you know it can change in an instant and we have had to find a way to navigate the stormy waters and road unknown."
"The cancer journey is complex, scary and unpredictable for everyone, especially those closest to you," the next Queen consort continued. "With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything."
After what seemed like "endless months" to royal watchers, the Princess of Wales finally revealed the good news in the clip, where HRH also highlighted how she was able to reconnect with her family during treatment. "This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved. Doing what I can to stay cancer-free is now my focus."
"Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes. I am however looking forward to being back at work and undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can," she concluded.
POLO hits Netflix screens in December and follows Harry and Meghan's August 2023 "flop" doc, Heart of Invictus.
