'The Uninvitables': Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ‘Being Left Off' Event Lists Due to Fears of Other Guests Being 'Tarred With the Same Brush'
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have a new nickname: "the uninvitables."
"Harry and Meghan are being left off guest lists for friend's weddings and other events due to their estrangement from the royal family," a source spilled.
"There is genuine fear that if the Sussexes are invited to a wedding or a christening, it could leave that family excluded from the social circuit, which would be one of the biggest faux pas imaginable," they added.
The new Sussex moniker is said to stem from how the pair are now perceived in Tinseltown and Soho in London's West End. One primary example of the name, which follows "f------ grifters" from last year, is the controversy over Harry's invitation to Hugh Grosvenor's society wedding in early June.
"There was very much a sense of confusion over whether he [Harry] was uninvited or turned it down because William had been asked to be usher," the insider continued.
Ultimately, it was revealed that the Duke of Sussex avoided the invite due to Prince William being an usher at the ceremony.
"Either way, Harry was fuming," the source pointed out. "He had also been a close friend of Hugh's for many years and they even went travelling to Africa together."
If reports are to be believed, the duo's four-year-plus attempt to reign supreme in Hollywood has reportedly failed. In her "neverending" bid to become a Hollywood A-lister, the Duchess of Sussex may have to settle for "D-list" notoriety.
The royal rebels thought, "'We'll be at the center of this sort of royal court, and everyone will come to see us,'" royal expert Richard Eden dished. "But it never seems to be working out like that."
Harry and Meghan's attempt to transition into Hollywood has been met with varying degrees of scrutiny and challenges. Moving from the structured world of British royalty to the competitive and often unpredictable entertainment industry presented hurdles to the pair, even with Meghan's past acting experience.
Their shift involves not only adjusting to different roles and public expectations but also competing with established actors and personalities already entrenched in Hollywood. Furthermore, the public's perception of their move from royalty to entertainment figures adds another layer of complexity, with their motives and abilities frequently questioned.
During the summer of 2023, the Montecito twosome experienced a "freeze out" in Tinseltown. The Duke of Sussex spilled too many secrets for some in his memoir Spare, such as an incident where he wrote about finding "chocolate mushrooms" in Courteney Cox's refrigerator. The Friends star was surprised by the fiery-haired prince's revelation and told an outlet, "I definitely wasn’t passing them out."
"My sources tell me it’s all about the money, and the big power players in Hollywood aren’t jeopardizing their businesses for Harry and Meghan," television producer Paula Froelich told an outlet in July 2023.
