'Desperate' for Reconciliation: Harry and Meghan's Last-Ditch Effort to Mend Rift With Crown as Royal Rebels 'Reach Out' to Kate Middleton
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reached out to Catherine, Princess of Wales, before Saturday, June 15's Trooping the Colour, a bombshell new report claims.
"Both Harry and Meghan have been following Kate’s recovery with huge interest, but sadly it’s had to be more from afar because their lines of communication with the palace and the Waleses, in particular, are very limited, to say the least," a source spilled.
"They have had enough information to know that people are excited about the idea of a comeback for Kate and they’re both relieved and happy to hear that she’s on the mend and may soon be well enough to return to her duties," they added.
The Princess of Wales apparently was not too interested in sending a reply. "They’ve jointly reached out to send well wishes, but they’re still not really in a place with Kate to warrant much of a response," the insider dished, but did point out that this hasn't "stopped them from trying to connect."
The source continued: "When Kate gets back into action, their hope is that it might take some of the heat off them and possibly trigger a truce with her and William, and with the King, too."
The Duchess of Sussex may have a "sly trick up her sleeve" in ensuring this news circulates as it could reportedly help to reframe her image as a "peacemaker" and no longer a "disruptor."
"Meghan’s desperate to come across as the bigger person and end this feud between them — appearing like some sort of royal savior could only do her image good," the insider further added. "And, despite all their bad blood, her heart does go out to Kate — she can only imagine how hard this situation must be for her."
The source observed how the Suits alum "has made it clear she’d love nothing more than to move past all the nonsense and find a way towards healing for everyone’s sake," before concluding: "She's ready to let the anger and bitterness go."
This news comes as King Charles III and Queen Camilla are set to travel to Balmoral Castle in late July for their annual summer holidays in the Scottish Highlands. When asked if Harry and Meghan can come, His Majesty reportedly fired back: "No way."
Royal correspondent Rebecca English claimed that the King made the sharp reply to a source with a "resounding snort" as he made his feelings clear on the matter.
The outright snub is said to respond to recent reports reflecting His Majesty's wish to see his elusive Sussex grandkids. Neither his youngest son nor his daughter-in-law are allegedly open to a visit to Britain with their children.
The New York Post reported on the insider revelations.
