'Stinks to High Heaven': Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Ignore Kate Middleton's Health Problems to Live it Up on the Red Carpet
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's acceptance of awards and attendance at glamorous movie premieres "stinks to high heaven" while Kate, Princess of Wales, recuperates in a hospital room.
"All they needed to do was make some public declaration," Lady Colin Campbell dished.
"But they are not going to; they can exploit every situation as long as they don’t make a public declaration," she added. "The whole thing stinks to high heaven."
Since the news broke that King Charles III and the Princess of Wales were both stricken with health ailments, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have remained quiet, despite some reports suggesting they phoned the ill royals.
But even if there was private contact, some feel that cracking jokes at gala events with John Travolta and walking a red carpet is not a good image to project at the moment.
"If they had made a public declaration, there would be a certain sympathy for them," royal expert Phil Dampier shared. "There might have been private contact. I’m sure they are worried."
He continued: "They haven’t made anything public, and I think that is the contrast; they are enjoying themselves and probably went to the premiere via private jet. It does look like they are swanning about and enjoying themselves, when there is real concern for many members of the royal family."
This comes after a resurfaced report from last year that found a royal commentator describing certain possible rules between the Montecito twosome.
"I personally don’t believe that Harry would speak to Catherine privately without Meghan’s blessing," entertainment and royalty expert Kinsey Schofield dished. The popular blogger also shared how Kate, Princess of Wales, and Prince William were "laser-focused on their goals," and this has ensured that both have "made it a point to distance themselves" from the Montecito drama train.
The Princess of Wales is not making late-night calls to Prince Harry," Schofield added during her talk to a publication in August 2023. "A significant amount of William’s unhappiness toward Harry revolves around Harry and Meghan discussing Catherine so openly to Oprah and within [Harry’s memoir] Spare. Catherine is very respectful of Prince William’s feelings and wouldn’t go behind his back to execute anything… The thought of her crawling out of bed to make phone calls is quite silly."
She continued: "William and Catherine do not receive regular updates on Harry and Meghan, so Kate would not be aware of any difficulties Harry was having to advise him to 'keep his chin up.' The Prince and Princess of Wales are laser-focused on their goals for 2023 and are not distracted by the drama that seems to follow the Sussexes. They have made it a point to distance themselves. Meanwhile, Harry is defiant and insists that there aren’t any 'difficulties.'"
