Cleaning Prince Harry's Mess: King Charles Leaves 'Whiny Duke's' Security Drama to the Government in Order to Avoid Another Scandal
King Charles III, 76, finds himself navigating a labyrinth of challenges that test his leadership and resilience.
Acceding to the throne in September 2022, his reign has been marked by a series of formidable obstacles, with His Majesty's relationship with his estranged youngest son, Prince Harry, 40, being "perhaps the most complex," a courtier spilled.
Royal expert Ingrid Seward highlighted the constraints the King faces, stating, "The King is in a position where the security and who gets the security is decided by the government, and the government is not the monarch."
She pointed out, "When Charles was Prince Charles, he could do more, but as monarch, he has to be very careful."
"This delicate balance between familial affection and constitutional duty adds another layer to the King's decision-making process, especially when the whiny Duke from California attacks his crown" the palace aide observed.
Allegedly, when the Montecito Duke reportedly rings up his "Pa," the monarch likes to shoo palace aides away in order to avoid his youngest son's ongoing security concerns.
"Now, even his own father is not taking his calls," royal expert Emily Andrews shared. "I'm told that when courtiers bring the phone to the King (Charles doesn't have his own mobile phone) he waves them away in irritation."
As Britain and the Commonwealth realms' constitutional head of state, the King cannot get candid with Harry about court proceedings, security and more largely due to his son's "untrustworthiness."
Author Robert Hardman dished, "Imagine the situation if the prince were to talk to his father about his court case and then later to describe that conversation — or, worse, a conversation which was not entirely accurate."
Speaking about the California Duke's strained relationship with his family, Andrews said, "After the brickbats, 'truth bombs' and accusations of Oprah, Netflix and Harry's Spare, he lost his older brother, strained his relationship with various members of the royal family to breaking point and left many old friends and trusted staff behind."
Regarding why His Majesty waves off Harry's calls, the expert explained, "This is not because there's been yet another falling out. Rather, it is thought to be because Harry wants to continuously discuss his ongoing battle for security, which he has been fighting in the court for four years and believes Charles has the power to reinstate."
Although Harry is bogged down in a bitter feud with nearly all of his family, it is suggested the only senior royal he (at one time recently) communicated with was Charles III.
The monarch even decided to meet with his youngest son back in February, one day after his cancer diagnosis was made public. Some reports suggest the pair only met for 12 minutes, and the King declined to see his rebel son again when the Duke visited Britain on May 8 for an Invictus Games event.
