Prince George Reportedly Feels Uneasy Around One Part of Royal Life — and Fans Already Noticed

A royal biographer says Prince George still finds some public royal moments a little uncomfortable to deal with.

Prince George carries himself with poise whenever he is out in public and interacts with fans of the royal family warmly. But even though he is often out and about with his parents, Kate Middleton and Prince William have tried to ensure George gets enough privacy growing up. His childhood has been much different than his grandfather King Charles, but there is still one aspect of being a royal that makes him uncomfortable.

Royal expert Robert Jobson recently shared that George is still getting used to some of the more intense parts of royal life. Speaking to HELLO! Magazine on Princess Charlotte’s 11th birthday, Jobson looked back on the sweet dynamic between the siblings and brought up a viral moment from Christmas morning 2025. In a clip shared on TikTok, longtime royal fan John Loughrey stopped George during the walkabout and told him, “George, I've got something to say to you. Granny Diana would be ever so proud of you.”

George seemed a bit uncomfortable during the interaction, but still politely thanked the fan. Meanwhile, Charlotte placed a supportive hand on her brother’s back, with Jobson later calling it “an instinctive gesture of support in an unusual situation.” He added, “George is a little bit reticent about [royal superfans]. When she put her hand on his back, I think that's natural. There's no training. They learn by observation.”

However, other royal fans took to social media to voice out their own opinions on the strange interaction. Most of them said that a stranger mentioning Diana to George came off as disrespectful. An X user pointed out, “This is appropriate for immediate family but not for general public. Its so disrespectful and to be fair she doesn't know anything about Diana and what would have made her proud.”

The 12-year-old does not have to worry about meeting a lot of superfans anytime soon, as he will soon be moving on to the next phase of his life. The young Prince will complete his school year at Lambrook School in Berkshire and will soon start his secondary education. According to reports, he will be enrolled in a boarding school, which is a natural step for future monarchs.

For a while now, George has been widely tipped to attend Eton College, just like William did, especially since it’s only a short drive from Windsor Castle. At the same time, Marlborough College, Middleton’s old school, has also reportedly been a strong contender. However, they were also seen touring Oundle School in Northamptonshire, where celebrities like Bruce Dickinson, rugby twins Ben and Tom Curry, Sir John Timpson, scientist Richard Dawkins, and BBC correspondent Damian Grammaticas are alumni.
