Family Over Everything: A Look at Pippa Middleton's Unbreakable Bond with Kate Middleton During Her Cancer Battle
Pippa Middleton is reportedly sticking by her big sister, Kate, Princess of Wales' side as the future queen battles cancer.
"Pippa is not only Kate’s younger sister, but she’s her best friend and loyal to the bone," an insider told Star.
"Kate can trust Pippa with anything she needs to get off her chest," they added.
Pippa, 40, has been called the Princess of Wales,' 42, "rock," in the wake of the future queen's cancer diagnosis.
"We know that she's got a very close and supported family, and secondly, that the support is under the radar," royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told an outlet when discussing Kate's illness. "The Middletons are clearly a very, very important part of her and William's life. At the moment, absolutely pivotal. I would say. We know that there is a tremendously strong bond between her mother in her parents, also siblings, and also that they live in close proximity or relatively close proximity."
The commentator further observed just how much support the future queen has received from both her royal and actual families. "I think the Middletons will be her rock, and they will be also tremendously helpful, especially regarding the children," he noted.
The Princess of Wales announced she was battling cancer with chemotherapy in a video message released on March 22. The future queen did not reveal the type of cancer she had. Apart from the love and support she has received from her parents, Michael and Carole Middleton, and younger brother, James, it is likely Pippa's help that has the princess "beaming with excitement" each day.
"Kate and Pippa were quite the social butterflies," the source pointed out. "They’d go clubbing together and get home late, sleep in when they could, then laugh at their nightly escapades over breakfast."
Along with Prince William and their three children, the trust of family both, immediate and extended, is said to be of utmost importance to the queen-in-waiting.
"Kate has a difficult time trusting anyone who isn’t family," the insider stated. "This became especially true after she married William and became a member of the royal family."
For a woman who will grace history books until the end of time, the sanctity of those she loves, and the down-to-earth normalcy they provide her "is paramount."
"We still do a lot together as a family and I think that’s really the heart for all of us is having a really close family that we can sort of be normal with each other, treat each other normally," Pippa dished to an outlet. "And that’s sort of kept us all, you know, affixed to the ground."
The Princess of Wales made a highly-publicized appearance at June 15's Trooping the Colour, which was her first public engagement since Christmas 2023. It is not known when Her Royal Highness will return to duties full-time.
