Meggers Wagers

I’m on record as saying that I don’t think the Duchess of Sussex will EVER return to the U.K.
The popularity of Harry and Meghan has plummeted on this side of the pond, and there would be a genuine danger that they could be abused in the street if they met members of the public.
Now it seems some very well informed people agree with me.
According to one tabloid report, below stairs staff at Buckingham Palace are placing bets in a sweepstake called “When will Meghan return?”
Footmen, pages and maids loyal to Her Majesty have been wagering $15 each to select dates in the winner-takes-all lottery.
A few punts have been made for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in June next year.
But the red-hot favorite apparently is that she will NEVER come back, a scenario which is difficult to prove!
Maybe they will need a cut off point of five years before someone claims the pot.
Certainly opportunities are running out for the couple to return in the near future.
They didn't turn up for Prince William’s Earthshot climate change awards or a reception for family and friends who couldn't make it to the unveiling of Princess Diana's statue at Kensington Palace.
Harry won't be at Remembrance Day, as he is attending a vets event in New York.
And I can’t see Harry and Meghan coming back to spend a miserable Christmas with a family who no longer trust them.
The atmosphere over the turkey and stuffing would be a nightmare!
So, hopes of a genuine reconciliation are not looking good.
It’s all very sad, but with Harry bringing out a book next year, it could get worse!
