Mike Tindall Reveals Kate Middleton's Fitness Regimen as Princess of Wales Returns to Royal Life
Mike Tindall took to his podcast "The Good, the Bad and the Rugby" to let his listeners know just how much the Wales family loves sports!
"George loves his football," Zara Tindall's spouse shared. "I’ve played numerous times in the garden with him. He’s passionate about Aston Villa, too. Wherever he is, he’ll sit down and watch that game. They’re just a family who love sport. Catherine loves her running."
This insight comes amid Mike's further revelations about his connection to the royals in his book The Good, the Bad & the Rugby: Unleashed. "Believe it or not, marrying into the royal family was pretty easy for me," he wrote. "They were always nice to me, and I was always nice to them. Simple really."
The Tindalls were also praised this past summer for their "realness" as junior royals and their unpretentious way of not "hiding anything" about themselves and their lives.
"That realness is also with William and Kate," former butler to Diana, Princess of Wales, Paul Burrell, dished on behalf of Slingo. "I don't think there's anything they're hiding. I don't think there's anything false about them."
"I think what you see is what you get, whereas Harry and Meghan, you just don't know what to believe," he added. "That's the difference between the two camps."
Burrell continued, "Mike Tindall has done incredibly well to step over that line into a royal world and yet keep one foot in the real world. He must have a very balanced mind to cope with both entities, because as we know, those incoming into the family have suffered in the past, and they've not always done well."
The former rugby player also spoke about the Princess' love of tennis, which is on display each year when she attends Wimbledon in July.
A love of Wimbledon ran deep for the princess long before she received a royal coat of arms. HRH grew up adoring the British summer sporting tradition thanks to her parents. She also loves playing the sport herself and had a tennis court installed at her and William's country home Anmer Hall on the Sandringham Estate in 2015.
The queen-in-waiting also shares a zeal for Wimbledon and tennis with her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana. The iconic royal attended the tournament numerous years throughout her life and even took a nine-year-old William with her to sit in the Royal Box and enjoy the match in July 1991.
William and George shared a father-son bonding moment at an Aston Villa football match on April 12. The future monarchs are said to be "keen" Aston Villa fans as Mike reported, with the Prince of Wales developing a passion for the team when he was a kid in the 1980s and '90s. George is "following in his dad's footsteps" with his own love for the team.
