Megyn Kelly Supports Claim That Meghan Markle's Treatment of Princess Kate and Queen Elizabeth Proves She Is Not a 'Feminist'
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's redesigned website has drawn sharp criticism from many, but Megyn Kelly is not pleased with how the Duchess of Sussex's bio calls her a "feminist."
"The amount of staff she has chased out, all women. Her tantrums, her tirades..." the outspoken political and cultural commentator dished on her daytime radio program, The Megyn Kelly Show.
The ex-actress' profile page now states: "Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex is a feminist and champion of human rights and gender equity. Her lifelong advocacy for women and girls remains a constant thread in her humanitarian and business ventures."
"How is that in anyway a feminist trying to lift up the young women?" Kelly added. "She wants to us believe that she would never and she only lifts up the young women." The host also shared how Meghan constantly painted herself as a victim compared to Kate, Princess of Wales.
"If you are such a feminist what about showing reverence and true appreciation for the Queen who gave her life," columnist Maureen Callahan shared after Kelly's remarks. "She didn't ask for it, she was born into it, she took it with the utmost seriousness. Instead, we got that deep mocking curtsey on the Netflix special that just oozed contempt and ridicule. She's not a feminist."
The duo's new digital relaunch was also roasted by numerous social media users.
"'The Office of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex,' Grandiose, arrogant & self-serving," another X user pointed out. "If this isn’t an attempt to pre-empt their anticipated removal from the royal family website (and other actions), it should be the catalyst to do so. Get on with it."
There was some praise to be found as well on the new digital relaunch from Team Sussex.
"Meghan outlines all the work she’s done throughout her life. I’m so proud of her for doing this. She’s taking control of her life. She doesn’t owe anything to anyone, and she wants you to know that yes, her children are in fact a prince and princess," a third person shared.
Another highlighted how "the Sussex.com website is going to make a lot of people cry, and I am here for it. However, I am so proud of Harry & Meghan for doing things the way they see fit & having some of the best people working for them. Onwards and Upwards! 2024 is our year to celebrate them!"
If royal critics were hoping to see an absence of the duo's regal styles and titles, they will be sorely disappointed as the couple's royal coat of arms issued in 2018 appears at the top of the page, along with the pair sharing: "The office of Prince Harry & Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex."
"They are going to have real trouble with the use of Sussex. It is a royal title and if there is any hint of commercialism about this it will be shut down. It's just staggering they cannot see how gauche it is," a palace insider spilled when referring to the crest.
Daily Mail reported on Kelly and Callahan's remarks.
