Meghan Markle's 'Ridiculous' New Brand: Duchess Is Set to Struggle Selling New Venture Since 'People Know What She's Like'
Meghan Markle could be set for a rough ride with her new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, and it has nothing to do with the actual products.
"Putting one page up for her new website was ridiculous because nothing has followed it," royal author Angela Levin told GBN's Nana Akua. "People don’t want to put money into it. They don’t because they know what she is like and know that she’s very difficult."
Levin did, in fact, lay into the product line as well by stating: "People aren’t necessarily wanting to buy jam, tablecloths and birdseeds."
The Duchess of Sussex officially launched the new line to the public on the same night both Princes William and Harry paid homage to their late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales, at the 25th Annual Diana Awards on March 14.
"She took away his spotlight moment," Levin shared about the ex-actress' decision to launch the brand then. "I thought that was very cruel. I wondered whether it had all been timed so it would come one after the other. Harry gets very, very little. She takes over. Unfortunately for him, she did it because she couldn’t bear him to be in the spotlight."
"As Meghan is no longer part of the monarchy, she is free to launch her brand whenever she likes," PR expert Lynn Carratt dished. "However, given Kate's ongoing cancer treatments, it would be wise for Meghan to be sensitive to the timing of her brand launch, considering the public support for Kate worldwide."
This train of thought was also picked up on by Levin who stated: "And I think it's that extraordinary attitude that she knows better than anyone. She thinks of herself as globally... she's made a mess."
The former actress and her prince have not been in Britain together as a couple since Queen Elizabeth II's state funeral in September 2022. One palace insider stepped forward to reveal that "the long amount of time that has passed since the snob graced us with her presence will guarantee a media frenzy with her oaf" if Meghan joins her husband in May. The Duke of Sussex will be the main attraction at St Paul's Cathedral for a 10th-anniversary celebration of his Invictus Games.
But not everyone is buying that Meghan will actually show her face in her father-in-law's kingdom ever again.
"I will believe it when I see it," royal commentator Charles Rae told an outlet. "Until I see her step off that plane I do not believe that she will be here. I think too much has gone on, and I'm sure that if she does come she will get a very cuddly and warm welcome."
