Duchess of Disdain: Meghan Markle 'Didn't Like Playing Second Fiddle' in Royal Family But Could Have Had 'Key Role' in Monarchy Today
Had Meghan Markle "wanted to be a real and respected princess," it is possible the ex-actress could have become a "key player" among the Firm's senior royals today.
"We're told Meghan didn't like playing second fiddle well, they wouldn't have been playing second fiddle right now, would they?" royal commentator Sarah Hewson shared with The Sun's Matt Wilkinson.
"They would have been front and center and they could have played such a key role and I think it's really, really sad to see just how things have changed," she added when discussing the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. "He and Meghan both actually could have made such a difference."
This news comes as the California Duchess is reportedly feeling encircled by attacks against "everything she does," as allegedly "nothing is ever good enough or of value," according to one Sussex insider. One commenter on X called the recent "wealthy sobfest" the "epitome of woe is me," and called the ex-working royal: "Saint Meghan."
"With news that the couple’s Netflix contract may be under threat, along with the mockery that greeted the launch of her online brand, Meghan feels very much under siege," royal author Tom Quinn suggested when analyzing all that the pair have attempted since leaving the monarchy and Britain in early 2020.
Despite her and Prince Harry's ongoing $100 million dollar Netflix deal, which another X observer said was "beyond what any struggling, hardworking family with food insecurities could ever conceive of," the Duchess of Sussex is said to be "hyper-focused on criticisms against her and could care less about positive reports."
Furthermore, this is also apparently causing rifts in her marriage, which led Quinn to add: "There is a growing rift between Harry and Meghan caused by Meghan’s increasing concern that her life is not going in the direction she had planned — she loves media attention and hates the fact that surveys suggest she and Harry are no longer of much interest to the American public."
On top of this, the ex-actress' newest venture is facing criticism long before production has even begun!
"The problem is I sometimes think Meghan can't let go and wants it to be about her..." royal expert Rupert Bell dished on the "Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered" podcast.
"Suits did well in its time," he added when highlighting a recent bombshell report suggesting the Duchess should bring her ex-costars on her upcoming Lemonada chatfest. "Meghan was in it. She earned a lot of money out of it. But it does feel retrograde if she's having to call on members of the cast that she has very little contact with."
But others feel that Meghan is simply "her own worst enemy in practically everything."
