It's All for Meghan's 'Publicity': Are Sussex Project Announcements Just a 'Diversion Tactic' to Generate PR Interest in the Duchess?
"Probably not much is going on" in Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's world, shared royal expert Richard Kay, who also said the duo are "in a rush to reveal announcements and appear 'busy.' They have all these plans lined up, but then nothing materializes," he added, referring to previous reports suggesting no new podcast projects from the couple until next year.
In February, it was revealed that Meghan had entered into a partnership with Lemonada Media, a company founded by women with the aim of "making life suck less." The Duchess, who previously produced only one series of her podcast "Archetypes" for Spotify before ending her collaboration with the company, had signed on with Lemonada to create and host a new series.
"The relaunch of Meghan's 'Archetypes' podcast got pushed back to 2025," a Hollywood insider spilled to royal expert Richard Eden.
"This is very curious, because usually, when someone's doing well or in the news, you can't get enough of them," he added. "So a podcast would complement a television program which, would complement online material, which would complement lots of jam being sent out. That's not the case. So you get strong suspicions about all this."
Fitzwilliams hinted at a possible desire for the Duchess to launch verbal attacks against the royals and the monarchy. However, King Charles and Princess Kate's cancer battles make that "impossible at the moment," according to a royal insider," who further added that "TRH [William and Kate] map all of this out in their minds well beforehand — they are always 50 steps ahead of Harry and Meghan."
Speaking about the podcast delay recently, commentator Kinsey Schofield alternatively predicted: "They're afraid that her new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, and her new Netflix series could conflict with the promotion that they’d really like to go into this new podcasting venture."
"There is, I would suspect, not a lot of money on the line here or there would be pressure and bigger expectations for Meghan to execute this," she added when highlighting one of the project's many differences with the ultra-lucrative Spotify failure.
Schofield continued: "We saw that with Spotify. There was a countdown clock. When they only got 13 episodes out of the Sussexes, they gave them the chop. Sources are suggesting that Meghan has a list of very high-profile guests scheduled to participate in her new podcast, but does she?"
The entertainment expert then observed: "Very high-profile guests usually have their diaries filled months in advance," before sharply criticizing the ex-working royal by quipping: "Meghan should know, she used to be that [high-profile]."
Could it all just be for show with the Montecito royals?
