Meghan Markle's 'Cowardly' Move: Duchess Is 'Protecting Herself' by Pushing for 'Impossible' Royal Apology to 'Get Out of U.K. Trip'
Meghan Markle has been accused of "pushing for a royal apology that will never happen" simply to have an excuse not to accompany Prince Harry to Britain on May 8.
"Until she feels that the royal family have been sufficiently nice to her — and grovelingly apologized for the past — it's not going to happen," royal author Tom Quinn dished when discussing a possible Meghan appearance in the U.K.
"Let's be honest — it's over. She [Meghan] will never step foot in this nation ever again in a public manner, and she knows the storm of negative criticism that will descend upon her if she does," a royal insider spilled. The source then pointedly claimed: "She is bluffing as she always does, which is a cowardly way to try and frame the narrative. She wants the world to think she is taking a stand against the royals when the reality is, they would never in a million years bow to her demand."
They continued: "By having her fans write nonsense articles about her 'taking a stand,' she can try and hide behind empowerment and all that word salad nonsense she loves to babble."
Others feel that the Duchess of Sussex's final decision to accompany her spouse to the U.K. was never even a plan to begin with.
"I don't think that she is actually blocking him from seeing his family though, we know that he came to see his dad when his dad was ill and we know that he is coming over again in May," royal expert Charlotte Griffiths told an outlet when discussing Harry and Meghan's current dynamic with the senior royals.
"Although I have to say, she is not coming with him. He is coming over to St Paul's for an Invictus Games event and it is a surprise she is not coming with him, it feels like a withdrawal of support.
"I think that she is just protecting herself because she knows that she is not very popular in this country. I do think that Tom [Quinn] may be pushing the boundaries to say that she is preventing an olive branch, to be honest."
"The idea that William is looking for a reconciliation is for the birds," she added when highlighting reports suggesting a brotherly reunion. "This is a guy who has a lot of big things on his plate. He has two very sick relatives one of whom is his wife. He is planning to be the future King, who knows how long that could be. That must be at the forefront of his mind."
Griffiths concluded by observing how the Prince of Wales is over the Sussex drama completely. "He could be the King in the next few years and the idea that he's going to get bogged down by more psychodrama from his brother, from Montecito, from Meghan. I mean, he's just he's moved past all of that. He's actually past the angry stage."
