Ex-Royal Utopia in Montecito: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Are 'Very Content' With Lives in California Despite Duke Missing One Thing About Britain
Prince Harry is said to be "really happy" with his life in Montecito, Calif., along with Meghan Markle and their two children. However, the one-time HRH is reportedly missing one key thing about life in his father's kingdom.
"Harry's living a wonderful life and a life he's always wanted to live," royal author Katie Nicholl told Kinsey Schofield on her "Kinsey Scholfield Unfiltered" podcast. "And I thought that's really wonderful to hear — really pleased to hear that — but I'm sure there must be moments like this when he would have just got on a plane, with or without Meghan, and come over for a big society wedding like this if he and his brother were actually on talking terms."
This insight comes after the Duke of Sussex turned down an invite to his lifelong friend Hugh Grosvenor's lavish wedding on Friday, June 7.
"It's a situation that an expert says will be leaving Harry feeling overlooked by his friend," royal scribe Tom Quinn dished. "Harry will be watching Hugh Grosvenor‘s wedding with very mixed feelings."
Prince William seems to be the source of all the fiery-haired princes' frustrations, as Quinn continued: "Grosvenor’s wedding brought up other sadnesses for Harry — he had hoped to be asked to be best man but now feels that once again he is overlooked in favor of his brother. At every turn, he is made to feel second choice, second best. Always the spare."
The Prince of Wales performed usher duties at the nuptials, which had many analysts and insiders suggesting his presence was the singular reason Harry was skeptical of attending.
Royal commentator Richard Eden shared: "When Prince Harry started introducing new girlfriend Meghan Markle to his closest pals back in 2017, not all of them warmed to the American actress. Harry's friends, after all, tend to be country sports enthusiasts with an earthy sense of humor, while Meghan is a politically correct Californian who practices yoga when she's not sipping green smoothies or nibbling avocado on toast."
He added: "However many new showbiz pals Harry makes in California, there might come a time when he regrets losing touch with his old pals."
The future king and Duke of Sussex have reportedly not spoken to one another since September 2022. Meghan has also not set foot in the nation that made her a princess and duchess since then, which was the State Funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.
The royal rebel duo are reportedly working on two Netflix shows in tandem with the Duchess' continued rollout of her lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard.
