Meghan Markle & Prince Harry Touch Down In NYC! Couple Visits One World Observatory Alongside Mayor Bill De Blasio
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have touched down in New York City! The couple visited One World Trade Center on Thursday, September 23, alongside Mayor Bill de Blasio.
According to Page Six, the pair smiled at the throngs of people as they were running late for their 8 a.m. meeting at the tourist attraction. The former actress, 40, and Harry, 37, wore black outfits and donned face masks before they entered the building.
“Wonderful to be back!” the TV star, who was wearing a pantsuit and turtleneck sweater, said. The duo are also meeting Governor Kathy Hochul, de Blasio and First Lady Chirlane McCray.
Earlier this week, it was announced that Meghan and Harry will make an appearance at Global Citizen Live to discuss how important it is to get the vaccine amid the ongoing pandemic.
"The Global Citizen Live campaign is calling on G7 countries (the world’s wealthiest nations) and the European Union to immediately share at least 1 billion COVID-19 vaccine doses with those most in need and support calls for a waiver on COVID-19 vaccine intellectual property rights. The campaign is also calling on Pfizer, BioNTech, and Moderna to share mRNA technology with the new World Health Organization-backed transfer hub based in South Africa," the website notes of the upcoming concert, which will have appearances by Jennifer Lopez, Coldplay and more.
This is hardly the first time the dad-of-two has spoken about getting everyone vaccinated.
“The vaccine must be distributed to everyone everywhere,” he said at Global Citizen's Vax Live concert in Los Angeles, Calif., in May. “We cannot rest or truly recover until there is fair distribution to every corner of the world. The virus does not respect borders and access to the vaccine cannot be determined by geography.”
The two didn't seem to bring their kids, Archie and Lilibet, along for the adventure, so hopefully they get to have a few moments to themselves during their trip!
