Another Key Plan Fails: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Are 'Thrashing Around Like Fish Out of Water' as Brands Jump Ship
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are officially in panic mode in the wake of Omid Scobie's Endgame scandal and one setback after the next throughout 2023.
"The Sussexes are thrashing around like a fish out of water. The team doesn’t appear to know what to do at this point," an insider close to the royal rebels spilled.
"The consensus now is to try and repair the damage done to the royal family and hope that link will help them out of the doldrums," the source added, before sharing how the couple also "blame the royal family" for many of their recent problems.
One aspect said to have angered Meghan was losing out on what was being billed as a major prospective deal with the fashion house Dior, which the brand pushed back on in June. Queen Camilla later wore Dior to the royal state visit to France in September, and in a cruel twist of fate, an actress playing Kate, Princess of Wales, in the last season of The Crown became the face of the brand.
"The focus shifted towards other members of the family. And the actress playing Princess Kate was announced as the new face of the brand. It was all very suspicious timing," the source observed.
"They are in trouble and are struggling to find the best way forward. Harry has been trying to reach out to his family of late, but doesn’t seem to be getting anywhere. He appears to have well and truly burned those bridges," the insider concluded.
Whereas matters are reportedly looking grim for Harry and Meghan as 2024 looms, the royal family under King Charles III seems to be thriving.
"It looks like Harry is in fight or flight mode, while the Wales family — under attack over the last few weeks — seem to be staying focused in the giving spirit and getting us all excited about the holidays. But when it comes to this court situation with the Duke of Sussex, Harry's attorney is fighting that the article that was published is an attack on Prince Harry's honesty and integrity — that's how he worded this," royal expert Kinsey Schofield told an outlet.
Schofield continued: "And it undermines Prince Harry's charity work and efforts to tackle misinformation online. So, the irony looking over the last 12 months, because how can you not look back over the last 12 months and think about honesty, and integrity with Harry and Meghan, there seems to be a complete lack of it. And the misinformation — look at the slew of lies that have come to fruition. We realized that a lot of things that Omid Scobie has told us are not true."
