Sussex Remorse: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry 'Know They Went Too Far' With Royals, Want 'Reconciliation'
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry allegedly claim that they both were "too harsh" in their attacks on senior members of the royal family, and reportedly want to fix broken relations.
"Harry's book Spare criticized the royal family heavily," PR expert Pauline Maclaran dished. "I think they went too far with that, and I think they realize that now."
"They have been very careful not to take that same line," she added. "Harry and Meghan have even appeared to be looking for some sort of reconciliation. They have lost popularity in the U.S., we have seen that with the various jibes that have taken place in popular culture, such as the famous South Park episode. Their popularity has plunged over there. The Americans still love the idea of royalty, but this latest rebrand seems strange, given they want to live in the US and forget about the royal family."
She continued: "They were seen to be really criticizing the royal family, and criticizing them too much. I think they tipped over the threshold, for many people in the U.S., after the Netflix documentary."
"Harry wants to spend more time in the U.K. and bring the children over to be with their grandparents and cousins, but he will have to prove himself first," a Sussex source spilled. "That's been made very clear to him."
This report has also been analyzed by royal experts as a sign that the Duke of Sussex is "torn" between his home country and "what Meghan wants" in America. "Harry has spoken about wanting his children to understand their legacy and to feel equally at home in the U.K. as they do in America," veteran royal reporter Jennie Bond dished. "By now, they must be proper little Californians with minimal understanding of their British heritage.
The journalist continued: "Life events like this, though, focus the mind, and I'm sure Harry will be dwelling on the fact that his children have virtually no relationship with their paternal grandfather — or maternal grandfather — at the moment. Time and life are marching on, and scares like this will certainly make Harry think hard about the future."
"We all hoped for some kind of fairytale reunion to come out of the shocking news that Charles has cancer, but life is not like that," she said. "These are complex family relationships that are not going to be resolved with the wave of a wand," Bond firmly observed.
She concluded: "It did seem extraordinary that Harry flew here, only to watch his father and Camilla leave for Sandringham. So what does this tell us? It underlines that a full reconciliation between father and son is going to need work."
