Meghan Markle Podcast 'Red Flags': Duchess' New Audio Show Pushback to 2025 Labeled 'Strange' and 'Suspicious'
"Red flags" are being raised around the "strange" delay of Meghan Markle's podcast with Lemonada Media until 2025.
"It's very strange to put something on ice for a year," royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams dished. "If it's current, if it's big, if you're excited about it, and then you want to launch it."
"This is very curious, because usually, when someone's doing well or in the news, you can't get enough of them," he added. "So a podcast would complement a television program which, would complement online material, which would complement lots of jam being sent out. That's not the case. So you get strong suspicions about all this."
Fitzwilliams hinted at a possible desire for the Duchess to launch verbal attacks against the royals and the monarchy. However, King Charles and Princess Kate's cancer battles make that "impossible at the moment," according to a royal insider," who further added that "TRH [William and Kate] map all of this out in their minds well beforehand — they are always 50 steps ahead of Harry and Meghan."
Speaking about the podcast delay recently, commentator Kinsey Schofield alternatively predicted: "They're afraid that her new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, and her new Netflix series could conflict with the promotion that they’d really like to go into this new podcasting venture."
"There is, I would suspect, not a lot of money on the line here or there would be pressure and bigger expectations for Meghan to execute this," she added when highlighting one of the project's many differences with the ultra-lucrative Spotify failure.
Schofield continued: "We saw that with Spotify. There was a countdown clock. When they only got 13 episodes out of the Sussexes, they gave them the chop. There are sources telling the Daily Mail that Meghan has a list of very high-profile guests scheduled to participate in her new podcast, but does she?"
The entertainment expert then observed: "Very high-profile guests usually have their diaries filled months in advance," before sharply criticizing the ex-working royal by quipping: "Meghan should know, she used to be that [high-profile]."
Authenticity and passion" are the two keywords Lemonada CEO Jessica Cordova Kramer revealed, which strikes a sharp contrast with Meghan, who was accused of "faking" her "Archetypes" interviews in an investigative report, and coming off multiple times as "forced" and "fake" when talking to celeb guests.
Still, some feel that the delay is nothing more than a case of "trying to pretend they don't have a dud on their hands," the royal source quipped.
"Meghan's new podcast delay in the wake of all the 'phoenix rising after Spotify deal collapse' hype is a PR disaster," PR expert Ryan McCormick told an outlet. "According to Podcast Index, there are 4.1 million podcasts in existence today."
He added: "That means at least 4.1 million people (many of whom probably don't have a comfortable, privileged life like an ex-royal) were able to do what Markle can't do."
Daily Mirror reported on the expert opinions.
