Meghan Markle Is Returning To The Netherlands For 'Publicity,' Author Claims
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be returning to The Netherlands for the upcoming Invictus Games, but author Angela Levin believes there's another motive for the former actress' trip.
"Meghan is going because they're doing the next Netflix documentary," Levin said. "They're going with cameras, and she wouldn't want to miss out on the publicity. The Invictus Games don't belong to her, she likes taking over things that she thinks will be productive for her. She's not necessary there."
Meghan, 40, and Harry, 37, turned heads when they didn't return for Prince Philip's memorial service in late March — especially since the dad-of-two would be heading to Europe a few weeks later.
"It's very sad that Harry and Meghan won't be at Prince Philip's memorial service, and I think one day Harry might regret it," royal expert Phil Dampier shared. "He has said that he doesn't feel safe without Scotland Yard security, but to me that sounds like an excuse not to come back to the U.K. and indicates the rift with his blood family is still bad."
Levin had similar thoughts about the situation. "I think it's truly shocking," she said. "I think the royal family are deeply hurt, but that's precisely what they must want, otherwise, they wouldn't act like that. It's such snub, you cannot believe that Harry is the same person as he was in 2018 when I met him."
Though the pair missed out on the event, Levin believes they'll come back to the U.K. "if we'll allow them to bring Netflix cameramen, they won't come otherwise."
The Queen's Jubilee is coming up in June, but it's unclear if the two will fly overseas to see Harry's brood.
“I think Harry won’t come back because he knows he cannot face his family, and be pleasant with them, knowing what he’s written about them in that book," Tom Bower told Closer magazine about his upcoming memoir, which will be released this year. "That book will have a lot of casualties and cause a lot of hurt. It will really deliver, as Harry knows it has to, to justify the money he’s been paid to do it. How can Harry come back and pretend it’s all fine? The worst of what he will say is yet to come.”
