'Once a Bad Actress, Always One': Meghan Markle Is Making Prince Harry 'Uncomfortable' by 'Still Acting Like She's on Suits'
During their appearance at the Kinsey African American Art and History Collection Event at Los Angeles' SoFi Stadium in March, Prince Harry reportedly felt "uncomfortable" around his wife, Meghan Markle.
"To many, their displays of affection looked contrived — many of us thought Meghan looked as if she was still acting in Suits!" royal author Tom Quinn dished. "And Harry always looks really uncomfortable with public hugs!"
"Harry and Meghan's recent hosting of a special event in honor of the Kinsey African American, Art and History Collection gave the couple the chance to do something for an institution that has a special place in Meghan’s heart, and it was fascinating to see how loved up Meghan and Harry were at the event," he added.
The scribe continued: "But there was a sense that some of this was rather forced — recent publicity has suggested Meghan and Harry’s relationship is under strain, and this will have determined the couple to make a public demonstration of their love for each other and the strength of their marriage."
The author of Gilded Youth: A History of Growing Up in the Royal Family: From the Tudors to the Cambridges then shared how "Harry and Meghan gave up being working royals when they left the U.K. — after Edward and Mrs Simpson, it was the romance of the century. so there will be panic at any suggestion that the relationship isn’t going really well."
This insight comes amid the ex-actress having been advised to tread carefully with the rollout of her glossy new lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, amid Kate, Princess of Wales' cancer diagnosis.
"As Meghan is no longer part of the monarchy, she is free to launch her brand whenever she likes," PR expert Lynn Carratt dished. "However, given Kate's ongoing cancer treatments, it would be wise for Meghan to be sensitive to the timing of her brand launch, considering the public support for Kate worldwide."
One palace insider stepped forward to quip: "Once a bad actress, always one," about the former TV star before revealing "the long amount of time that has passed since the snob graced us with her presence will guarantee a media frenzy with her oaf" if Meghan joins her husband in May. The Duke of Sussex will be the main attraction at St Paul's Cathedral for a 10th-anniversary celebration of his Invictus Games.
But for some analysts, even if the couple is acting in public, it could be because they have no choice but to.
"Their romance is a key part of their brand so whenever we see them now in public, they will make huge efforts to show they are still madly in love," Quinn observed. "Harry is in the most difficult position because he gave up being a working royal for this romance, and if the romance fails, he has nothing else."
Daily Express reported on Quinn's remarks.
