In it for the long haul! While recording her 40x40 birthday initiative video, Meghan Markle seemed smitten with her husband, Prince Harry.
"You know what was so cute — I could tell he walked in because we were talking and she went, 'Oh hi,' and her whole face lit up," Melissa McCarthy, who filmed alongside the former actress, said on the morning talk show Lorraine. "It was so sweet and genuine."
She continued, "And then he ducked his head in and was like, 'Is it weird if I juggle?' And I said 'It sure is,' and then I said 'what about standing outside that window?' and he goes, 'That's what I was thinking.' I was like, 'Are you weird and funny to boot?' I love anyone that will do something weird, so I was like, 'I tip my hat.'"
This is hardly the first time the Bridesmaids lead raved about the project, which helps mentor women who "are mobilizing back into the workforce."
"She said, ‘Let's do it in a fun way and see if we can drum up more people helping more women kind of get back into the workforce,'" McCarthy shared of Meghan's idea. "I was so pleased to be a part of it. The way she wants to celebrate her 40th is by helping and empowering other women. How do you not get behind that?"
"They were so sweet and funny. I just find them very inspiring," she gushed. "They're carving out their own lives. They're carving out their lives for their kids."
The comedian praised the fact that Meghan loves to help others.
"I love someone who chooses to lead life the way they want to and give their children the life they want to give them, and then to take an opportunity where it's her 40th — what fun thing does she want? Instead, she is like, 'How can I get more people to help other women that need help?' I was like, 'That is what we need. We need a billion more people like that in the world to do that. To take a little bit of time that you can really help somebody.' She is like, 'That is how I would like to celebrate my 40th,' and I was like, 'Sign me up. How do you not want to do that?'"
